Bengal's owner says he wanted Kaepernick instead of Dalton

Not smart from a football perspective, but I wish more owners were that honest. They should sign McCown or draft a QB early. Ideally both, if they have the cap space for it. Dalton should have to seriously compete for the job next season. It's sad how he wastes all those fantastic weapons they have on offense.

Don't tell that to this kid

If kaepernick was playing for the bengals this year he'd have thrown for 6000 yards and 55+ touchdowns. every game the bengals lost was dalton's fault. they should still be undefeated.

LOL, now they know that feeling when you draft a mediocre piece of s**t with no ceiling, and whiff of a future Superbowl MVP. -The ball is finally turning our way again, and we f**ked the Bengals four times over now hahaha. Mr. Brown blacklisting Bill Walsh cursed their franchise into hell.
sure he did , about 25 other teams would say the same now that they see what he turning out to be

Many people did, including myself. I knew nothing of Colin Kaepernick until around the draft. When I he got compared to Randall Cunningham and I saw a little of him, I knew what it could be in the hands of a coach like Harbaugh so I got on board. I figured he'd be good eventually. I didn't know he would take over this soon.

In regards to Mike Brown, it's worth noting the comments actually came out BEFORE the playoff loss.

This has to be one of the stupidest things an owner has done since Benson embarrassed himself in a Saints game a few decades ago. You don't trash your starting/winning QB by saying you wish you had someone else. JH may be a **** at times, but you have to respect how he never says anything negative about his players publicly. If I were Dalton, I would say that I won't be signing a new contract with the Bengals.

Well being that this came from the owner, umm I think it's safe to say he won't be offered a new contract to sign lol.
Actually, I bet that he will. It is hard to find even average QBs in the NFL. The owner won't be choosing between Kaep and Dalton, he will be choosing between Scott Tolzein and Dalton.
Andy be like

It sucks to be them...Brown and Dalton. It might suck to be Gruden, too, although he seems to be a popular interview for head coaching jobs. I believe in owners letting their GM's run the personnel side of things...because we've all seen how bad it can be when owners like Snyder and Jerry Jones try to play GM's. I'm just happy Gruden wanted Dalton because that opened the door to trade up and get Kap.

I was one of the few who wanted him. Instantly liked him once I saw him pull the upset over 4th ranked Boise State back in 2010.
