Seems to be a common thought around here so here are the facts about the impact of that hit and it's impact on the read option's use copied from another thread.
Q1:
(8:36) R/O left - Lynch up middle (brooks doesn't hit wilson or lynch, stands in the back field and watches Lynch rip one for 21 yds)
Q2:
(15:00) R/O right - Lynch off right tackle for 5 yds.
(7:29) R/O right - Lynch off right tackle for 14 yds (this is the hit)
(1:49) Shotgun Wilson scrambles right (right by Brooks) for 11 yds and a 1st down
(1:35) R/O right - Turbin off right guard for 3 yds
(1:01) R/O right - Turbin up middle for 4 yds
Q3:
(14:17) R/O right - Lynch left tackle for 8 yds (wilson fakes the run to the right)
(11:30) R/O right - Turbin off left tackle for 13 yds
I stopped watching after the 2nd instance in the 3rd quarter because well... as you can see, it was still run.
* I only recorded R/O in which Wilson went to the right after the hit (because apparently the argument was that they didn't do it again - to the right).
Ok....understandable. But that point I was trying to get out is for Aldon and Brooks to lay R.Wilson out EVERY SINGLE read option play. It doesn't matter if he has the ball or not, put a violent legal hit on him and put him in his back every damn time. I'm sure Carroll wouldn't want to see RW to take those violent hits, so he'll dial back on the read option plays unless he wants RW to get injure. If we do this early in the game, there's a chance we won't see the Seahawks read option being effective on Sunday. Even if Lynch have big gains by not having the OLBs keying on him, but they rather want to protect their most important investment in RW for the future than risk him getting hurt.
What you said is vey true, it also turns on a light bulb in a qbs head and will make them hesitant to enter a players area, and more nervous on the snaps to the side the player plays on. No matter how tough a qb is it happens to all QBs. Even Kap does it. The more nervous you can make them to one side the less alert they are to the opposite side.
Easier said than done and this applies to ANY team defending the read option against Hawks, Niners, Skins etc. Yeah you can hit the QB, but in todays NFL you risk getting a penalty and/or making a big play become even bigger that could cost you the game. And just like the plan is to get the QB to hesitate, if that DE makes the hit on the QB gets flagged and/or allows the RB to get away with an extra 10-15 yards. That DE will also hesitate even more during the read option. There's a reason it works (provided it was set up right), and again this applies to any team running the option including the Nines.

The Niners WILL put Seattle in their place this Sunday, and after they do, then all you whining, quitting, cry baby fans can go EAD. I know this post will probably get me a timeout, but C'MON MAN! Where's the faith in your team. Why root for a team that you don't believe in. What's the point of being a Niner fan if you're already defeated by watching Seattle plays? Why do you call yourself a die-hard fan if you die easily by watching Seattle put on a clinic against the Saints? The Niners are not the Saints, we are a better team, without the bs calls we would've won that game on the road on one of the loudest stadiums in the league.
If I was a Seahawk fan, I would love love love what I see on this thread. A defeated fan base without the game being played. You guys are just giving them reasons to laugh and mocking us. Im not taking anything away from Seattle, they are a really good physical team. But watching them demolished the Saints won't fazed me. I'll wait until the game is being played to make my judgement. Seattle is not playing the same 49ers team they played in week 2, vice versa. So, this is a new ball game, both teams are in mid-season form.
Lehhsss Gooo Niners!!
I made an account on here just because of this post. I was reading through the thread and the emotional swing being displayed after page 14 was amazing. I love the Seahawks, but totally respect the 49ers. It will be a hell of a game.

It's totally LEGAL to hit the QB on the Read Option play. The rule states that defenders are allowed to hit the QB on a Read Option play and treats him like a ball carrier, as long as he's holding the fake or give to the RB, he's considered as a ball carrier and is allowed to get hit. So, if a QB doesn't want to get hit, he's gonna have to give that ball earlier than they want to stay with the fake or pull that ball earlier than he wants to, which kills the whole purpose of the Read Option play, and once he decide to give the ball to the RB, he has to back pedal and show his hands. If he moves lateral or forward, he's allowed to get hit like a ball carrier even if he doesn't have the ball. So...
It is easy to say but easier to get it done. All our OLBs needs to do is totally ignore the RB and head straight to RW and hit him. RW likes to hold on to that fake as long as he can to try and force the OLB/DE to squeeze down to defend the RB, which makes it easier for the unblocked defender to come in and put a big hit on him without getting penalized. Why do you think Brooks didn't get penalized for that hit on Wilson on week two, or Suggs didn't get penalized for hitting Kap all the time on RO plays in the SB?? Because its totally legal to do so.

What we really really need to do to win this game is 1 get this run game of ours to actually gain yardage, new plays etc.,2 have a checkdown guy ready for Kap, if he's getting too much pressure, and 3 dont let those Seahawks recievers get wide open all by themselves...again!

Don't know about that but, there's this . . .
@SandoESPN: Seahawks are better with Browner available, but by my count, they've outscored opponents 269-73 in games he's missed (2012-2013).

Its also a fact that since Pete carroll has been head coach, your team leads the league In suspensions for peds. And its a fact that your coach has a checkered past history of cheating.
And any or all of that matters on sunday how?

That dude is just way too big and slow to cover quicker and faster receivers. But he fits Seattle's scheme because their d-line gets to the QB so fast and then he mugs people 5-7 yds off the LOS. Crabtree would pwn Browner with ease.
