It's funny you mention this. They drove a ton of fans away, that's why they appear as the "majority". In some ways, their denialism is so great that they just shouted down the naysayers. Seeing the direction that the team was taking...and basically being powerless to change anything....we just went silent.

What else is there to say?

Just making sure I read this correctly… the optimists are driving fans away?

Im in the "wait till a game is actually played before coming to a conclusion" camp but the perception lately that there is no other alternatives to haters or homers is just comical.

The overworked argument may have some merit, but none of us would trade what Harbs gave us in four years. He was on heck of a coach. Compare his style and record with Lombardi or BB and I think you may not be so quick to go back to Walsh. Remember, Parcells worked Sims so hard he wanted to quit.

Give me Walsh everytime, 5 SB, three his own, but the other two were because of the infrastructure he built. The only thing making it difficult if he did it again now, is the cap.

Times change, Harbaugh was a good organizer and coach and got the most of our talent. However, no one can say for sure that he wouldn't end up like Rex Ryan -winning at first, then end up in a tail spin.

I also think Harbaugh knew that the writting was on the wall, that the talent was leaving and nothing that baalke could do because of the cap and age.

I'm a war daddy! I'm ready to go at any and every time. Even when the deck is stacked against me and especially when I'm doubted. That brings out my best and in life and as a fan. I'm loving this doubt because I know if we succeed I'm going to talk big ish to everyone I know

This. Do I like that we let JH go no, but JH was so stubborn when it came to adjusting the O or getting a new OC. He was considered a QB whisperer before, but recent developments and past say otherwise. He kept saying Kaep was fine and was going to be okay. People kept saying Kaep should go see a QB guru. I said that JH probably did not want him to. Turns out after JH left, Kaep went to get his Mech fixed. I don't expect it to be overnight, but I think kaep will surprise us a little this year, not greatly, but we will see some glimmer and a better QB than years past, that is if the OL is satisfactory.

I think our D will not be as good this year (not top 5), but top ten, our offense, I hope will improve, I just don't know as Chryst is an unknown. Jusr hope he doesn't turn into a Jimmy Raye, but I will give him the benefit of a doubt. I do like our O assistants, we can't be worse than before on OL and especially wr

We have a nasty schedule that I don't think even JH would help. For this year, though the niners have a possible advantage in that no one knows for sure what we will be like on D or O.

So I will wait and see. Some drink to much kool aid and some our what I call conspiracy nuts. Still I will wish for the best. Those that hope the niners fail miserably so that Baalke and JT is fired and York has to sell the team, are psychos.

I think it definitely has merit. Before any of these early retirements happened, Alex Boone was on record saying Harbaugh worked the guys way too hard, too often. We all know he was great coach, but we also know he was over the top intense, and it didn't always work in his favor.

Just 2 weeks after Boone's remarks, Willis retires out of the blue, saying his body was beat up. Then Borland retires a couple days later, scared to play any further. Now AD retires. Then we take into account the ridiculous number of players placed on IR, and the team becoming increasingly more injury prone, every year under Harbaugh's watch. People were questioning the medical staff, when it probably had more to do with the workload laid out by the coaching staff.

Walsh was a disciplinarian, but he also regularly held light practices to keep his team fresh. He knew when to be the drill sergeant, and when to lay off. Harbaugh never laid off. Parcells was another guy that never laid off, and after he left the Giants, he never lasted more than 4 years anywhere else. How long did Harbaugh last? 4 years. Guys like him wear out their welcome, even when they're great coaches. Tomsula is already making sure not to overwork guys, but when they do work, it's intense.

Taking Boone's remarks into account, and then watching what's unfolded, it makes sense. Many of our players got beat to hell the past few years, so much that the DEA dropped by the facility just to make sure we're not irresponsibly prescribing pain meds. Maybe that was the cost of winning, but I have a very strong suspicion that our methods on the practice field contributed to these injuries. This off-season has been odd, and so was Harbaugh. Not a coincidence.

Singletary was said to be worse.
IMO there's nothing catastrophic as some people make it out to be. JSmith retirement was expected, Willis I can't blame cuz he gave it his all every game and body is just beat up. AD and Borland is unexpected but they care about their health so it is what it is. Gore and Lee is about age, why pay for players that's over 30? People fall in love with players that even though they know it's the right decision it's hard for them to accept it. Lee was about to be release and that's obvious but to get a 7th for a punter? That's an awesome trade. This is the point where you see how good your FO is, the depth in this team is great.. You lose great players but you have players behind them that's capable of being great themselves. No need to panic, the 49ers just got younger and hungrier and future is bright, the draft picks that a lot calls bust will now be able to show how good they are. Yall need to relax and let the season start without high expectations, but the trolls will be trolls.
