yeah that was crazy. Offensive PI my ass.

This was a really bad call. What made it worse was that it was the last minutes of the game. The refs highhandedly decided the outcome of the game.

Luckily it will be obvious to almost anyone that watched that the refs messed up bigtime. With ratings dipping and this being the first true exciting Thursday game in a while, I'm sure the league office isn't happy the refs impacted the outcome. Refs are doing a really inconsistent and horrible job lately.

Agree. That was a horrible call. And the missed pass interference before Hyde's final touchdown was bad too. We can't even get some favorable refs at home!
You should be able to challenge s**t like that.

Anyone arguing that there definitively was no OPI or OPI from that camera angle is just using motivated reasoning.

There's simply no way to tell. Show me the camera angle from the refs vantage point on the sideline and we'll have something to talk about.

As for the purported NFL conspiracy, there's a segment of every fanbase that insists there's a shadowy conspiracy that's holding their team back. Fans of the good teams (e.g. Pats, Seahawks, Packers, etc.) are even more vociferous about it.

Iz you blind?

Yes. I am blinded by a camera angle in which we can't see if their was OPI or not.

You're blinded by the camera angle too, whether you'd like to admit it or not.

If you look at Robey-Coleman's shoulders at the point of contact at the top of the route, OPI was absolutely a possibility, but it's impossible to tell if that was a push off, him getting bumped off by incidental contact at the top of the route, or just him opening his hips to cover over top with inside leverage and getting beaten on the out route.

Even if he did push off, the DB made contact well after 5 yards, so worst case there should have been off-setting penalties and replay the down.
To me, what I see is this: Taylor runs his route perfectly. The DB puts his hands on Taylor to know where he is so he can then look back to see where his help is/if he has help. This turn of the head causes him to miss Taylor's cut and be beaten badly.

The contact by the DB clearly didn't impede Taylor's progress or where he was going, though.

You're basically asking for two bad calls to make up for what you think might be one bad call.
Even Collinsworth who hates the 49ers was like wow wtf was that call.... That is saying something lol

Maybe its just me, but over the past several seasons it seems like we're the victim of a bad call costing us a game, and I honestly can't recall when was the last time we benefited from a controversial call winning us a game. This goes back to the Harbaugh years too when we were winning. Can't get a call. People say these things have a tendency to balance itself out....sure doesn't seem that way though.

We benefited in the Atlanta game on the way to the Superbowl. The bowman no call. That's the last I remember.

But then we got cheated by the refs on the endzone no PI call in the final drive of the Super Bowl.
Don't even care about the call. The loss will help us secure a FQB.

The defense being horrible on the other hand was more disappointing

I feel bad agreeing with you, but yes this is perfect losing for the future situation. This team has way more grit than last years already.

Just so disappointing.

Just another example of a game being hijacked by the refs at the last minute. It was one of the best TNF games in recent memory until they deciding to interfere on the last drive and f**k it up. We stole momentum and were marching into FG range to likely win the game. No reason for that call at all. None. So infuriating.

As exciting as this game was, and will most likely be game of the week, but can you imagine if the 49ers weren't screwed on that play? They would have come back to win, making this comeback game of the YEAR.
I have never posted in this thread....but that s**t last night in a game that close. I have never seen a game so good be decided by the zebras so blatantly.

The call was horrible.

That said the 1st and 2nd down plays before the horrible call sucked and the 3rd and 4th down plays were garbage.
