Nothing concrete yet, but this is my best guess.

$2m signing bonus
$300k yearly per game roster bonuses($18,750 a game, $281,250 counts in 2018 as he played in 15 games between us and the Pats)
$100k yearly workout bonuses

Cap number is either $2,481,250 or $3,481,250 for 2018 due to the difference between the NFLPA report the past few days
Cap number for 2019 should be $5.2M

so if i'm looking at this right it's pretty much a 1 yr deal unless he balls out?

Yes and no. It is a friendly deal to player and team. If he balls out he makes max money. If he is pretty good they probably will keep him for year two for 3.5 million. Pass rushers are a premium. I am and have always been all for incentive based deals. If he crushes it he makes bank, if not he is stil set up for life

With what I'm looking at from AB, why would they keep him on the books for $5.2 million in 2019 unless he becomes a full-time starter and balls out? If his guarantee is $3.1 million and he get's $ 2 million yr one...they only lose like a million to cut him in 2019 vs him taking up $5.2 million in cap space...unless I'm reading it wrong

Pretty much looks that way. 1.1 mil the first year so it looks like he will bust his tail to get that 3.8 mil in year 2.

Good old Marathe. Love the way he structures contracts.

Correct, basically a 1yr deal, they can cut him and save $4.2m in 2019.

huh? not really...$3.1 million is what is guaranteed, which could be spread out over two yrs. it's basically a one yr deal.

This contract has absolutely no bearing on what we do as far as pass rusher goes.

I dont agree with NY on this one. Marsh made 2.5 million total in his first 4 years in the NFL. He got a significant pay raise and it says a lot to me as well. Dont shun out the rest of the deal just because it isnt guaranteed.

He will most definitely get some incentives in the sack department but usally most of those incentives are based on staying healthy and playing games. Such as roster bonuses.

According to our resident capologist AB (see above) it most certainly is a one yr deal for basically $3 million. I don't really care what he made on his rookie deal, he was a 4th rd pick id expect him to make more than that if he actually got a 2nd contract.

It's incentive based yes, but they didn't put a ton of guaranteed money on the table which would show you how much they actually value him. $3 million is not eye opening imo. We could essentially cut Dekoda Watson and the money we saved would go to Marsh, that's how little it effects anything...unless he turns into a 10+ sack guy (then we have a monster bargain).

All I care about is cap space end of the day. AB stats we can save like $4.2 million next yr if he doesn't perform, so yeah it's really a one yr deal.

IMO this has zero effect on what we do in FA or draft regarding a edge rusher.

Yes we're fine, We're at about $74m under right now, as for future years, depending on the cap, $89M in 2019, $149M in 2020, $181M in 2021, before carryover, and other deals of course.

We definitely need to improve our pass rush..
Two things win games.
1. Keep our QB up.
2. Knock opposing QB Down.
