Today, San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis shot down any talk of him playing for another team. Responding to a fan on Twitter saying that the New York Giants could use him and asking how he got along with now-Giants offensive line coach Mike Solari.

"Solari is my Dad but I'll probably be a Niner for life," said Davis.

Solari had two stints with the 49ers as their offensive line coach. The first was from 1992 through 1996 – before Davis' time in the league. The second was from 2010 though 2014. Davis was drafted by the 49ers with the 11th overall selection in 2010.

Earlier today, teammate DuJuan Harris made a mention of a "mean spin move recovery block" that Davis made during practice against the Denver Broncos. Harris said that he thought that the Broncos defender had Davis beat on the play. "That was me showing the little dude that I'm a better athlete than him," responded Davis.

Earlier today, Davis talked to the media following practice. He got some work with the first-team offensive line at right guard for the first time since rejoining the team. Davis had been playing exclusively at right tackle, trying to break into the starting lineup and overtake Trent Brown. "We want the best five on the field and Trent's not going to play guard," said Davis. "He's a giant man."

Davis revealed that he had gone to offensive line coach Pat Flaherty and volunteered to move to guard. He said that he had told head coach Chip Kelly weeks ago that he was willing to move to guard. "It will help us so that's where I'm willing to go," said Davis.

Davis played at guard during his freshman year at Rutgers, so he has some experience. Of course, that was 10 years ago. Is he worried about the transition from his normal tackle spot to guard? "I'm pretty good at football," answered a confident Davis.

He had been criticized during his time off for delaying his return to the team and posting harsh comments directed at the organization and general manager Trent Baalke on social media. Since returning to the team for the start of training camp, Davis' attitude and work ethic has been praised by teammates and the coaching staff.
