Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports that the two-game suspension of K'Waun Williams has been rescinded. The San Francisco 49ers cornerback was initially suspended for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
The NFL has rescinded #49ers CB K'Waun Williams' two-game PED suspension because of issues with the testing procedures, sources tell me and @RapSheet. Williams stands by the fact he has never violated the PED policy.
Williams is currently recovering from a high-ankle sprain and probably would not have played during the next two games anyway.
"I know he's still a few weeks away," head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters today. "Two or three, roughly. I mean, don't hold me to that, but I know that's their estimate of it.
"I knew that he had some issues with the failed test, something that completely shocked him, just hearing from him and stuff. So, it doesn't surprise me if it was overturned. I heard that coming in, but I don't know anything for confirmation."
Williams has 14 tackles, three tackles for a loss, a sack, and two passes defensed in six game appearances this season.

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir is a rising star. And this week, the 49ers treated him as such, rewarding Lenoir with a five-year, $92 million extension. The 2021 fifth-round selection will now be paid as one of the league's top cornerbacks, deservedly so. He's...

The core of players the San Francisco 49ers have now has never been a group to give up hope when the chips are down. That's not about to change now, even though their outlook looks much bleaker than it did at the beginning of the day.
