He won't want to play here...needs to be on a team that makes him the centerpiece of the offense. With KS and Jimmy G it's always going to be the pass game.

Yup, a blank check.

Naw man the entire offense starts off the run. Then the play action pass. Coleman and Freeman had 24 TDS last year and 2500 scrimmage yards. In 2015 freeman was breaking TD records, then the offense fell apart.

I bet bell would love to come to a team where he's the best player, besides the qb. That's if he even hit free agency.

I'd love bell be he's not going anywhere. With his style of dancing behind the line , will that be a great fit? Will Kyle be okay with that.. sounds dumb but I think Pit is more man and power vs zone scheme.. Can anyone chip in on this?

He wants #1 RB money PLUS #2 WR money...combined. That's why he held out.

That means he is asking for $16m/year.
He's already on the decline. Most people just don't notice it because of the record breaking amount of touches he continues to be forcefed. He's never been a burner, but his long run on the season is only 27 yds on 283 attempts. Buyer beware.

Worth every penny.

LOL
How good of a fit is he here? Could he be too patient for this offense? Or is he a perfect fit?

Doesn't matter we're never getting him

16 mill imo is not worth it IMO. If you're close to a SB that money can be used on two starters, say OL and you draft a RB in the 2nd that gets paid 700k.
yo, damn...

In this article by Bill Barnwell, best NFL writer right now IMO:

Running back seems like an even more interesting proposition. The 49ers haven't committed to Carlos Hyde, who was inherited from the old regime and has been strictly competent for most of the year. Shanahan loves pass-catching backs with the patience to run a zone scheme, and there's one very significant option out there. The 49ers are one of the few teams with both the need at running back and the cap space to target Le'Veon Bell. If he doesn't come to terms with the Steelers, the Niners could very viably target Bell at a $15 million-per-year salary without squeezing their cap situation at all.

Would love to have Bell on a $16m/year deal IF the Niners have the ability to get out of it after year 2.
I love Bell but I'm not paying a RB THAT much, not when this draft class is loaded at the position. Just because we have a ton of cap space doesn't mean we should max it out because next thing you know our young talent will be up for new deals and we've blown it on free agents. Have to be smart about it.

As good as Bell is, RBs don't last long and are usually fairly easy to find.
Been thinking about this and there's a good chance Ben retires and Bell wants to go somewhere else. Now, I think the Steelers would tag him out of necessity, but you never know.

Bringing in Bell would transform the offense. It's not the most efficient use of money, but acquiring a pass catching RB is priority #1 on offense.
