Any chance he declares after this year? Would be our only chance to get him imo. He's probably headed for the top 5 in 2011 at this rate.

Very good chance actually.
With the uncertainty of 2011 I expect any eligible underclassmen with a top 2 round grade to come out.

Its time to bring this thread back. Mallett should go back to school after this performance. But the guy has a great arm, i had him going to Washington in my latest mock draft. No news yet about his decision.

Hope we do get him!!!... We really do need a confident, self-controlled, game managing quarterback. Unlike Smith, even if we did build-up our offensive line from Left to Right, Alex just doesn't have that poise or aura in the huddle & in the game. Unlike our previous QB's in Joe Montana & Steve Young. Even Tim Tebow is alot better than Alex Smith!!!!

Perhaps you didn't see WR drop balls and RB's fumble.

I watched this guy against ECU last night, not knowing who he was, and not knowing there was this thread or any convo on him...and all night i kept sayign to myself +if Arkansas' Qb wasnt so sh*tty they would have already won this game"..
Now that i read this thread maybe he had a bad game, but damn he looked horrible.

Mallett really reminds me of Big Ben, not just because of his size, his arm strength and accuracy are about the same.
Big Ben is not the most accurate QB, by far. What makes Big Ben great is how poise, and clutch he is, and is a good leader. If all Mallett has to offer is his arm, I'll pass.
