will the 49ers be recieving any Comp Picks in the 2010 Draft
I will post an updated analysis soon to show whether or not we are likely to receive any.
Not likely
possible.

we signed;

Jones, Norris and Evans

we lost;

Strickland, Bajema, Johnson, Sean Ryan.

If anything a 5th or 6th at the most.

I think Ron Fields was a free agent when signed by Denver-he started most of the year as their nose tackle. He should get us something since calculations are based on salary and playing time.

Yeah and Norris was a cut.
Would be nice to get one
We also signed Bly...but I don't recall if he was cut or not. I wouldn't expect much if we got anything. But yes any pick is better than none.

Yes, Bly was cut by Denver.
Only 3 players that really come into play is...

Gained
Brandon Jones- 5yrs/16.5 million (3.3mill/yr) 8 games played/0 started

Lost
Bryant Johnson- 3yrs/9million (3mill/yr) 16 games/16 started
Ron Fields- 2yrs/5million (2.5mill/yr) 16 games/16started

Which puts all 3 players in the 6th round range. However Brandon Jones' lack of playing time could cancel him out altogether. or bump him to the 7th round range.

So we'll either get 2 6th rounders or a 6th and a 7th. I'd bet on 6th and the 7th.

EDIT: Fields is actually borderline 7th round range. Which would cancel out Jones and just leave us with a 6th. Unless Jones' lack of playing time cancels himself out altogether which would leave us still with a 6th and 7th.

Don't forget Strickland was the nickle back for the Jets before an injury. Should count for something-possibly canceling Jones.

At best he'd cancel out Jones. But that would depend on his contract size most likely. As his playing time (9 games/ 2 started) also doesn't count for much in this compensatory case. I can't find the numbers on his deal. Only that he signed a 3 year deal.

If it's anything less than 2.5 per. I doubt he'd be relevant!

Just found it. His contract is for 1.1 per/yr. Which almost certainly makes him irrelevant.
