Quinnen Williams finished 2018 as the highest-graded interior defensive lineman we've ever seen at the college level since we began grading every FBS game https://t.co/emFQwagy4q https://twitter.com/PFF/status/1116117662759833600?s=17
Buckner has yet to play alongside a true stud...QW's that guy. Despite having mediocre NT play, DB's put up some pretty impressive numbers and they've improved each season. Willliams and Buckner can wreak some real havoc...which is why Lynch needs to draft the former.

Boing!!!!!
If I were Lynch, I would go all out on this draft and take Q with the #2 overall and trade back into the 1st for either Burns, Sweat or Ferrell, whoever drops into the mid-late 1st using future picks. Keep our 2nd this year to take a WR and take an OL to develop in the later rds. I'm not too fond of next year's defensive class.

I'll be stoked if we end up with
Q.Williams
Burns/Sweat/Ferrell
Deebo/Brown/Harry
Bars/Benzschawel/Prescod

Thats 3 instant starters and a future starter at OL with a possibility of 2 projected Pro-Bowlers and an All-Pro..IMO.

Imagine a lineup of Burns-Q-Buck-Ford? It's almost like having Bosa and Q on the same line. Who do you block with Buck and Ford on the other side?

Also runs sideline to sideline to make plays. Has dripped back and defended the pass to RBs and TEs as well. He's just an amazing player all around. QW can line up anywhere on the DL and still be the best and most dominant defensive player on the team. We 49ers fans better hope that Arizona is dumb to enough to draft Murray or Bosa and not Williams with their 1st pick. We also better hope Lynch and the powers that make draft decisions are smart enough to draft Quinnen Williams if he's there to be taken second.

The players you mentioned would cost too much to move back into the first round to get. Not realistic. How do you propose to get those other players also. We already don't have next years 2nd. Plus you are not thinking-next year we will need to get free safety and Tackle to train or start in place of Staley.

It is more likely that someone like J Ferguson is available if they go that route. Doubt it though. They will WR, Safety or CB-BPA.

My dream scenario if we draft QW is the Raiders trade up to #2 overall and draft Bosa (their DE depth is atrocious) and we get a few picks back and take QW at 4.

That would make me happy.
The Jets may end up taking QW, so we may end up Josh Allen. Would be nice though if it happened, getting QW and the extra pick. Another scenario would be raiders move up for QW, jets take Bosa, and again we end up with Allen.

I would probably prefer Bosa, but if we take QW at 2 overall I will still be stoked. The Seahawks and Rams had the number 1 and 3 rushing yards respectively in 2018, and the Cards have David Johnson. QW will be a monster against the run and is super effective rushing the passer.

We are in a win win in my book
If they take Bosa, both AA and ST should be kicked inside where they belong. It was a mistake to make ST play outside.

I think another possibility is that they swap picks with NYJ. Jets don't have many picks this year, so maybe they give up one of their two 3s (and then some) to grab the top guy on their board. That might help SF get a guy they want in late day 1 or early day 2. But if NYJ is happy with BPA, then no dice.

Buckner has also yet to play alongside an even a difference maker at DE. That's more important to his success than another strong DT. When you're weak on the outside teams will target that. Even with a nice push up the middle QBs can roll to the weak sides.

If we bring in Bosa it makes the whole DL very difficult to plan against. We'd be strong on the outside and while maybe not AS strong on the interior it would certainly be one of the better interior pass rush teams in the game.

You don't take a guy #2 overall to have him basically hold up double teams.
