Improving the passrush does wonders to the secondary. Much easier covering a guy for 3 seconds as opposed to 5.

I agree improving the pass rush is far better. Also you can't fix everything in 1 year. If we got QW + Winovich wow. That whole draft is made. Whatever you get in round 3 - bottom is just bonus. Just be happy with those first two. That's how I see it.

yeah its a lot of capital but whatever it takes to improve the unit. Protecting the qb and getting to the qb is the most important positions to nail besides getting the qb itself.

I think it's really possible Winovich doesn't last until our 2nd rounder. He may go late 1st or very early 2nd ahead of us. But if he was there you got to jump on that. He is much more athletic than people give him credit for. He is highly productive and has good technique and was well coached. I don't think I would pass on that for a WR. You always need more pass rush. If he is gone and a great WR is there that's a different thing. Yes S and G too. Just whatever is the best available. But if you got QW + Winovich that is an outstanding draft IMO. I would not be upset about that at all.

Yeah you can't fix all this in 1 year. A lot of people are being unrealistic. If we got QW + Winovich + pass rusher in free agency which we got + Jimmy G back and healthy + maybe our speed RB back and healthy you are looking at a huge improvement. I think they go a long way up with that.

The thing is you can fix it in a year if you hit. You've outlined one plan, but another realistic one is

Bosa #2
Thornhill or Deebo at 36
Savage or Ridley at 67

If they all work out all our glaring needs would be solved.

Buckner has also yet to play alongside an even a difference maker at DE. That's more important to his success than another strong DT. When you're weak on the outside teams will target that. Even with a nice push up the middle QBs can roll to the weak sides.

If we bring in Bosa it makes the whole DL very difficult to plan against. We'd be strong on the outside and while maybe not AS strong on the interior it would certainly be one of the better interior pass rush teams in the game.

You don't take a guy #2 overall to have him basically hold up double teams.

Why on earth do you think that QW's main role would be to eat double teams? His role would obviously be to wreck sh*t inside and cause havoc.

Now if a team decides that he's so good to warrant double teaming every snap, then Buck and Ford will be All Pros, some fans might moan, but every football guy would know that Quinnen was behind it all.

The kid is a monster, I personally think highly enough of Bosa to pass, but there is absolutely no one else I consider worthy of missing this guy.

Not Allen, not Burns and certainly not Solomon Thomas or Arik Armstead.

So when Winovich goes late 1st, our EDGE is Ford and Blair. Not awesome. But at least out interior DL of QW, Buck, Armstead, Thomas, Day, Street, and Jones is great. Bosa is the pick

I'm assuming this is if bosa is gone. If he is gone I'm fine with QW. He's instantly better than everyone except Buck.
