THE TREVOR LOTTERY

The other thing that can happen to some is the celebrity goes to their head. Some like Leaf end up with a drug problem. I hope and don't think that will happen to him. It would be a real shame if it did. He seems pretty well grounded so he should be alright. Just wish we had a shot at him.

If we had him, all the defense would be taking shots at him since our O-line can't stop anybody

Difference is this kid would be able to avoid some of it cause of his mobility

Yeah. Probably. But I imagine that at best, we'd see a Sam Darnold-like situation. He can move but his o-line is so bad that he's focused more on avoiding pressure than making plays. I've always had the philosophy of building an O-line before getting a QB cause we've seen how poor O-lines affect even the great QBs. Plus I like to protect the investment. That's just me though. Of course there are exceptions like Russ.

What would it cost to trade up for the number one pick? Say we end up with the 13th pick. Would a 2021 1st and 2nd plus a 2022 1st and 2nd get it done?

First, it would take Cincinnati, Chargers, or maybe Miami picking first over all. MAYBE Giants if there's not regime change, but that'd be a major surprise. Of course, even if one of those teams do pick first over all, the other Jets and Washington's of the world won't be far behind, and with much more valuable trade pieces. As such, we'd need to be picking top 7 no matter what...we simply can't compete with the ability to trade a top 3 pick otherwise. Then, it would likely take a minimum of 3 1sts and 3 2nds

I mean of course ideally you want to build the oline first before bringing in a QB, especially a rookie at that. But you never pass on a potential franchise QB regardless on the status of your line.

Lawrence would go down as an all time epic bust if he doesn't do well in the NFL. He has size, arm strength, ability to scramble and move well and he's played at the highest level against the best competition outside the NFL

I think the only way he's a bust is if he's injured or the team he goes to(Jets) simply don't protect him and he gets all shell shocked and even that would surprise me because he's a pretty tough kid.

The usual bust factor for big talent guys doesn't apply to him. He's smart, good leader and has no off the field issues or concerns when it comes to being lazy/unmotivated.

Would absolutely love to have this kid but it's never going to happen. We're not getting #1 overall since we already have 2 wins and the Jets may be lucky to get 1.

Nobody is trading him either.

THE only time he'll turn out a bust is we draft him and he's under Shanahan.. and that's because Shanahan will never accept the fact that the team now will belongs to a long hair rookie from Carolina..

NO LONGER HIS !!

Oh dear. Last time I checked the team belonged to the York's. Not even Montana owned the team, although he had a number of their hearts.

Well, 3 1sts and 3 2nds is just too rich. Way too rich. It would take a team of NY Jets level of desperation to overpay by this much.

I agree, won't be able to surround him with talent
No way in hell the Niners would ever trade what little draft capital they have to move up and get Lawrence even if they could. He may be great but thye won't mortgage the future for one player. No matter how good he is, he could still get hurt. Then you have no QB and no draft picks.
The kid is unreal.
He has that it factor. Best QB prospect coming out since Andrew Luck.

When scouts talk about making big-boy NFL throws, this is it.

How in the hell do the 9ers get him!!! I'd definitely give up two 1st round picks, 2021 2nd and 4th round picks, 2022 3rd and 5th round picks and Nick Mullens!!!

As you can tell I'm a huge fan!!!
