Christian Watson-WR-NDSU

But feels like Watson got some good steam from the senior bowl and if he tests well I can see him going before our pick. That's not even accounting for the fact that we will have a bunch of other needs.

I do think we're going to be looking to improve at WR but I'm thinking we'll be looking for later round speed guys to develop and help open up the long game - basically trying to replace Benjamin with a younger player who may have a chance to work his way into more serious snaps.

I would trade Garoppolo for a chance to acquire Watson all day. The number of different looks that you could give teams and the injury-proofing that provides would be well worth it. Plus you'd be bringing in someone that Lance is already familiar with as well.

This is a league where you never had enough WRs. Draft this kid if you can. He´s someone that will block in the running game too I think.
QB, pass rushers, serviceable OL, and play makers. That's what good teams are made of as long as coaching is top notch. I'm all for him assuming we get a day two pick for Jimmy
Damnedest thing. I didn't want to have a draft crush this year. I wanted uglies and the CB we need. In fact I haven't had a draft crush this early ever. But this kid...

I think something important that many may not like is in play here. Aiyuk could probably use the push. Has Aiyuk really lived up to his 1st round status? We're going to take care of Deebo and he is going to be a very rich man. That is going to hit the cap hard too after Warner/Kittle/Williams/Bosa/Deebo. We can't pay everyone. Drafting a kid like this could put some fire under Aiyuk's butt. Do NOT get this wrong. I expect Aiyuk to blow up with a QB who can bring out his best WR traits. I really hope he does. But what if he doesn't? Or what if we simply can't afford him? Watson in the wings with his PR/KR experience? Seems like a nice alternative to me.

Think Watson likes football? Think he has just a tad bit of versatility? Think he can block? Sounds like a Shanny 49er to me. And I do love the idea of turning Jimmy's pick into this guy. Seems like poetic justice in a way. We have 0 depth at WR after our top 3. We have a lousy return game. This is more of a fit, and one might argue, a need than a simple 5'10 speedster late round slot guy. You can get that later if that's what you covet.

Me? I covet this guy. I crown thee my #draftcrush. Make it happen ShannyLynch!

Love this kid and would be excited if they got him. If not, I think they're still sitting pretty good. Deebo really came on this year, Kittle had games where he didn't even get many targets cause deebo was taking care of business so they just let kittle block, Aiyuk was almost always open but Jimmy never wanted to push the ball downfield(something Trey won't have an issue doing), and Jennings showed he can be counted on in clutch situations. That's not even counting Sherfield who I thought was going to have a big year after his training camp and preseason. I think his experience with Trey will help him round out the room regardless of what they do in the draft.

If we didn't trade away 50 picks we could pick him. As it stands we are lite on picks.

We have 9 picks though. We are only missing a pick in the 1st.

Doesn't this apply to like.,...every team in the NFL? If we get a coveted first (or even a 2nd) for Jimmy this year, I think OL has to be the move (assuming this 2nd comes before pick 61). Then there is corner, a speedy edge, maybe a returner. I'm happy with our top 3, would like to add one if not two receivers. But we are talking 20 catches a season for said receiver. That player will have to play special teams and I can't see anyone getting 2nd round hype being drafted.

Good thing Watson is an All American Kick Returner then huh?

It is. I still don't see Kyle investing that early of a pick. Not over CB, safety, OL, and even edge.

No we aren't lol. SF has 9 picks right now and looking to collect more after the Jimmy trade.
I'm all for Watson...I don't think he's gonna go as high as some people think because the class has a lot of depth.

I could see him going end of the third.

Im all in of its pick 93 or whatever the pick is. Leaves us able to snag a corner, edge (I don't think you can expect an immediate contributor looking for an edge after the 3rd), another OL or safety to compete, and we are in the clear for this kid- assuming we snag a high pick for Jimmy.

It's still early… but I'd assume that he's gone much sooner than our first 3rd rounder.

Yeah some sources already comparing him to Deebo. With how Deebo lit up the league this year, I think most teams are looking for a Deebo of their own. I think he will be in the 2nd and maybe...late 1st.

who's comparing him to Deebo? dude isn't even close to being built the same. I've seen him comped to Tyrrell Williams. Or a thicker Robby Anderson
We sign this guy yet?

I'm hopeful he slides to the 3rd but think the combine could open some eyes. I just want him somehow someway.
