2022 OL prospects

Ryan Van Demark
6'6, 307lbs - UCONN
- Good late Day 3 development prospect
- Long and extremely athletic
- High character team captain
- Swing Tackle candidate, experienced and comfortable in both LT/RT
- Niners were present at his Pro Day (probably for Travis Jones but...doesn't hurt to look at other players.)

Nice one!!! seems like a great tackle to groom behind TW
Just saw a mock that had us trading up and grabbing Raimann in mid 2nd. I doubt he falls that far but, that got me thinking about McGlinchy, his future, his contract next year, and honestly The Silverback's age does have to be taken into consideration at some point as well. We know we need a developmental C pronto but what about the idea we may need a RT or god forbid LT in the near future?

Kyle literally said they knew Tomlinson would get paid so they drafted Banks. I could totally see the same approach with T and C next. It would be strange to see but they're always thinking a year out with the draft. That's why they traded up for Trey too.

then I guess they have to hit on the RT prospect. Early there are bunch I like. Raimann's scouting report is hilarious. It reads like a "49ers are stupid if they don't draft him" report.

"Scheme tendencies: Wide zone heavy rushing attack (Shanahan style system)"

Petit-Frere or another guy that seems to fit their style and can play both LT and RT

Only problem is I see some mocks where he is picked in the 20s.

Really like his fit with the Niners, started looking at him early and still think he would be a good pick

He would be a great fit too, I think he goes early 2nd at worst. One of the teams at the top of the round will probably need a OT after taking a pass rusher early

This tackle group features potential star power in Evan Neal and Ickey Ekwonu, with both Charles Cross and Trevor Penning grabbing 6.4 marks in my grading system, projecting them as good, early starters. I also see Bernhard Raimann as a raw prospect with plenty of upside still to cultivate. But once we draft past those five, it gets shaky real quick. Day 2 and Day 3 depth is below average, with many of the prospects on the wrong side of the line dividing their ceiling from their floor.

It's starting to have that feel of T at 61. Still depends on BPA but they typically fall in love with a guy and do whatever they can to draft him, even if a bit overdrafted. T could be just that move as a trade up.

I view Matt Waletzko as an under-rated prospect. Hard to say, but his draft day ceiling could be the end of the 3rd. or 4th.

He has top tier measurables, and solid scouting reports. If the Niners don't go OT with their earlier picks, he's one of my favorites.

I agree with whoever wrote that, and even penning I think is overrated. I do not think he's a better prospect than Spencer Brown was last year and I think he went in the third round. There's always unexpected stars coming out of the draft from all rounds, that has prospects, if we go tackle this year it's likely to be a reach.

Yeah At this point I'm all for BPA at a position of need.

I wouldn't be mad if we traded up and drafted a bunch of OL this year.
We need starters at 3 spots.
4 spots if Mack retires.
