Dohnovan West is a OG prospect in the 2022 draft class. He scored a 6.89 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 379 out of 1215 OG from 1987 to 2022. https://t.co/OYLRglH05k #RAS pic.twitter.com/Hm1dertO12

- High character team captain
- Swing Tackle candidate, experienced and comfortable in both LT/RT
- Niners were present at his Pro Day (probably for Travis Jones but...doesn't hurt to look at other players.)
.@UConnFootball OT Ryan Van Demark (@Ryan_Van_Demark) had an awesome Pro Day yesterday.

Elite 10-yard split and short shuttle, and a great overall workout. Strong career, great #ShrineBowl week, and now a great Pro Day, Van Demark is en route to a 2022 draft pick! pic.twitter.com/qAdhMTeOU9Here's a handful of clips from the 1-on-1 period highlighting @UConnFootball OT Ryan Van Demark (LT, No. 74)

6-6, 305 lbs, looked very in control regardless of the size or style of the rusher in front of him. My favorite OL from day one @ShrineBowl pic.twitter.com/WbEPsYoRubWatching LT Ryan Van Demark. Feet and balance stood out at Shrine Bowl. EDGE does a nice job blocking Ryan's left hand here. See how little the pull effects RVD? Playing w/ balance. Not waist bending. He's an athlete. pic.twitter.com/2ARCpQB4tW
— Matt Alkire (@mattalkire) February 7, 2022Connecticut LT Ryan Van Demark. Feet, independent hand usage and using your brain blocking.

Catches w/ left to plate, has right on shoulder, moves feet and not lunging. Removes left after pocket. Alters w/ right, gets left back. No holding. Don't get 15 there. Nice. pic.twitter.com/QPjTKkKVMHRyan Van Demark. Laterally quick. Shoulders square. Comes loaded at POA (like to see more lower body). Had to go see if he played basketball. Nope, volleyball. Close enough! pic.twitter.com/3qXysLAyRT

We know we need a developmental C pronto but what about the idea we may need a RT or god forbid LT in the near future?
Kyle literally said they knew Tomlinson would get paid so they drafted Banks. I could totally see the same approach with T and C next. It would be strange to see but they're always thinking a year out with the draft. That's why they traded up for Trey too.

then I guess they have to hit on the RT prospect. Early there are bunch I like. Raimann's scouting report is hilarious. It reads like a "49ers are stupid if they don't draft him" report.

Petit-Frere or another guy that seems to fit their style and can play both LT and RT

Only problem is I see some mocks where he is picked in the 20s.

Really like his fit with the Niners, started looking at him early and still think he would be a good pick

He would be a great fit too, I think he goes early 2nd at worst. One of the teams at the top of the round will probably need a OT after taking a pass rusher early

https://www.nfl.com/news/2022-nfl-draft-strongest-position-group-weakest
This tackle group features potential star power in Evan Neal and Ickey Ekwonu, with both Charles Cross and Trevor Penning grabbing 6.4 marks in my grading system, projecting them as good, early starters. I also see Bernhard Raimann as a raw prospect with plenty of upside still to cultivate. But once we draft past those five, it gets shaky real quick. Day 2 and Day 3 depth is below average, with many of the prospects on the wrong side of the line dividing their ceiling from their floor.

It's starting to have that feel of T at 61. Still depends on BPA but they typically fall in love with a guy and do whatever they can to draft him, even if a bit overdrafted. T could be just that move as a trade up.

He has top tier measurables, and solid scouting reports. If the Niners don't go OT with their earlier picks, he's one of my favorites.

I agree with whoever wrote that, and even penning I think is overrated. I do not think he's a better prospect than Spencer Brown was last year and I think he went in the third round. There's always unexpected stars coming out of the draft from all rounds, that has prospects, if we go tackle this year it's likely to be a reach.

Yeah At this point I'm all for BPA at a position of need.

We need starters at 3 spots.
4 spots if Mack retires.
