But when I look at this current roster it's obvious to me that we need someone who can be a 3 down player, push the pocket, and stop the run. Why? Because our defense took the next step when we allowed AA to play inside at his natural position. If we're drafting an edge rusher high... IMO it should be someone who allows AA to move over on base downs. Not just a 3rd down specialist. I think Sam Williams can be that three down player.
This kid had very solid production in the toughest division in college football. And when I watched the senior bowl, he was one of the 3 alpha players that I saw on the DL alongside Boye Mafe, and Perrion Winfrey.
If he's in reach I definitely think he should be in consideration with our first pick.
Sam Williams is a DE prospect in the 2022 draft class. He scored a 9.65 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 51 out of 1428 DE from 1987 to 2022. https://t.co/mMV4o1GbTU #RAS pic.twitter.com/fZEuDrPiqD

Not enough praise for @OleMissFB's Sam Williams. Even Charles Cross - with his rare movement - can't control his speed. Most OT's are so afraid he gets to the corner they leave the inside vulnerable. Williams knows how to take advantage.

Many will argue we don't need another pass rusher, which is wild. If Sam Williams is around - someone I'd seriously consider. Explosive traits. Good bend. Relentless. 4 FF this season. pic.twitter.com/xakt76m3pZ
