2023 Draft needs by priority

Just after the mid season mark, its time to look at what the Niners will do with their 9 draft picks next year. I currently see the following as the most obvious needs going into next offseason:
C
OT
DT
WR
CB
with secondary needs at
DE
S
and maybe QB
Do you agree or disagree? Would like to see where people's heads are at going into the stretch run.
FS
CB
LB
C
OT

FS- I personally am not a huge fan of Jimmie Ward.

CB- Outside of Charvarius and possibly Moseley not sure what we have here.

LB- cheaper to Resign Omenihu, Hyder, Willis than Al-Shaair IMO

C & T- no explanation needed.
OT because I expect us to have to replace a starter.

C because I'd like someone good at run blocking as well as pass blocking.

TE because I'd like us to get someone to take Kittle off of blocking duty so much but can at least be the equal of Dwelley a catcher

CB we need to keep developing them. Also insurance if Ambry Thomas doesn't work out.

S Need to get younger at FS

DT Because a run heavy team will kill us if we don't have AA.

LB to replace Al-Shaair

OT - will need at least a backup or replacement for McG. Williams will play a couple more years?
DT - run stuffer to rotate
C - need to get a good backup who can also play G, not as high a need for me but should be high pick/FA signing for quality.
S - could find a mid round gem here
CB - could find a mid round gem here
WR - sneaky need, takes a couple years to get going in Shanny's o

IMO its best available DT or CB with the first pick. It could change though if Mike McGlinchey leaves in the off season.

I think we already have that in Burks. I'd flipTE to the bottom and keep everything else where you have it.

TE isn't a true need, but I think our potential is capped without Kittle as a regular contributor in the passing game. Also, its hard to get a quality guy, particularly late. There aren't many tight ends that wow you out there.

I agree but the DTs after the first round just don't look that great a fit this year to me

Center: the team needs a developmental Center
Right Tackle: yes
Safety: JWard approaching senior status (for a DB); TGipson is already senior status
CB: Ambry Thomas doesn't seem to be developing well; Lenior seems solid, EMan coming back from major injury; can never have enough good CBs
OT- McGlinchey replacement, upgrade swing spot
CB- Resign Moseley And go get another
DT- Kinlaw is a question mark, need depth regardless
FS- Ward UFA

were set at WR, TE, IOL, DE, LB, RB but could add depth anywhere with som many free agents. It's also a year we may need to look at our specialists

2nd to 3rd rounds, I think the DT's are solid. I wouldn't get caught up too much in what system they fit. I think if they're solid at stopping the run and can penetrate they're good enough to play in any system.

Bryan Bresee - 6'5" 300 pounds , Clemson
Tyler Davis - 6'3" 300 pounds, Clemson
Byron Young - 6'3" 295 pounds, Alabama

Just a few DT's I been watching this year, that I think would shine next to Armstead and help stop the run up the middle. I wish the 49ers could somehow get their hands on Jalen Carter, one of the best DT's I've seen in awhile, more than worthy of a top 10-15 pick.

Unfortunately, Carter looks like he's going to be a Seahawk.

I think Seattle has a top 5 pick as it stands. You think they use it on a DT? Unless you mean moving up with their second first.

It's garbage time now for the Broncos so expect Wilson to excel the last 4 games.

Carter is a top 5 prospect
