That's a possibility but I personally don't like the idea of trading next years first to move up. I'm kind of tired of not having firsts.

Depends how far. It would be just our luck to trade down and get none of them then our team reach and overdraft the leftovers because of it
If past history is any indication, I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade up to grab the prospect they're targeting. The top flight guys that may go inside the top 15-20 picks may not be their target. I'm speaking about the list of guys that are supposed to go late first early second. They'll have 1 guy in that group they like above the rest. I see a slight trade up between 25-30 to make sure they secure "their guy".
Yup I can definitely see that

I haven't watch Barton yet. I think of all those guys I would go Guyton. I like Kingsley as well. Just watch Frazier (haven't done the write up yet). Some things I like, but I don't think he's a first rd pick.

I thought you wasn't a fan of Guyton? I initially wasn't but I'm starting to warm up to him the more I watch. I don't know if it's because I want OL so bad from this draft class lol

I wasn't initially. I've watched more and I think he's got a chance to be a damn good RT in our scheme. Still needs to improve, but I get why he's looked at as a 1st rd guy.
I know people say don't "reach" for OT6 or whatever. Thing is these guys are pretty damn good and in any other class they're not the OT6 or OT7 taken.
I'm team BPA, I also don't think it's not a massive reach to draft those guys. This is regarded as the best OL draft in the past 15 years. If SF doesn't leave it with a couple guys…then I don't know what the f**k they're doing in the draft room…not when you've spent the 48th pick on Banks or the 9th overall pick on MM.

We could use upgrades @ RT & C but we need a new RG assuming Feliciano doesn't resign. We can literally go BPA on the OL which is why I think Barton is the best fit since he can play any position on the OL. He can be our starter @ RG day 1, long term C or play OT in a pinch it sounds like.

I haven't watched him yet…my issue with that train of thought is we're taking someone that's played one position in college and now projecting him to play somewhere else that's he's never played at.

I haven't taken an in depth look at Barton either, just going off what I've read about him, but I believe he has played C, G and T all in college at some point and has been successful across the board.

If they trade up, don't be surprised if they take a guy that was projected to go later like maybe the early 2nd round. They've done that before because they were worried that if they didn't move up he wouldn't be there when they picked.

49ers pick is essentially a 2nd round pick so I wouldn't be mad or surprised. And I wouldn't even be surprised if they traded down to the middle of the 2nd round.

2nd person to say he's never played it. His freshman year he played Center. Moved to LT because that's usually where teams put their best offensive lineman and Graham was up to that task. I asked this question in another thread, not even being sarcastic, how many guys do you know of that started college as a Center and moved (and thrived) to LT for the rest of their college careers?

Barton is better than Guyton at tackle and it's not even close IMO. He finishes blocks while Guyton doesn't.

If they trade up it will be for a CB. I don't see them going OT in round 1
Or possibly WR if Deebo is traded o

Kingsley Suamataia @ 31 so we get that 5th year option.
Naturally strong, ambidextrous, nimble feet, the UPSIDE... a bit raw but that's why we have coaches.

I want pass rush
but if we're going OT, then we should do it right and trade up for the last of the five tier 1 guys out of: Alt, Fashanu, Fuaga, Latham, Mims
