You're right, it's not owned, it's spoon'd.

All true. But listen to athletes talk about their progression in any sport. They all talk about the game slowing down with more experience. The same thing will happen with Alex. Alex has the tools. He just needs more experience and the confidence that will come with it.

We've never seen what the guy can do without being constantly under pressure. That will change this year should he get the opportunity to be the QB.

No doubt. However, it's just really hard to shake what Urban Meyer said about Smith and getting accustomed to an offense. It was more or less Meyer saying that Smith isn't exactly an instinctual QB (in terms of Smith getting up to NFL speed), and that defenses will continue to stack the box and dare Smith to beat them with his arm. Right now, the blitz is still Alex's biggest obstacle, and even good protection can only do so much. Considering that and also him still not being accustomed to dropping from center and pocket manipulation, that was a huge reason I didn't want Smith back in 05.

If Smith were to see the field this year, defenses would probably go out of their way to apply constant pressure to Smith.

You could of searched yourself before calling someone a liar
And if you do read the link it does talk about Cutlar wanting to leave the team before this trade talk

I heard one other interesting thing Sunday: Cutler asked for a trade shortly after the Broncos lost offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates -- Cutler's confidant -- to USC after the season. So maybe both sides need to go into marriage counseling here.

Here some highlights from the article

"Will someone please give Jay Cutler his pacifier, hand him his favorite blankie and put him back in his crib for his afternoon nap? Because if he cries anymore about a trade that didn't happen, we'll have to check his Pampers."

But the mere thought of a possible trade upset Cutler so much that he went into full waaaa-waaaa-waaaa mode, wailing like an infant. Why are they being so mean to me? That sort of thing.

Why call Denver and ask about Cutler? Because the Broncos haven't reached the playoffs since the 2005 season. Because Cutler's record as a starter is 17-20. Because new Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels just happened to coach Cassel last season. And Cassel's team finished 11-5, including a 41-7 victory against Cutler's Broncos in October.

Cutler has accomplished nothing in this league. He has pretty passing numbers, but so what? It's time for him to do a Brooks and grow up. It's time for him to spit out the pacifier.

This is idiotic. Yes, Cutler needs to get over it, but when you are the best player on your team, it is highly insulting to be shopped around. It's not particularly his fault the team isn't winning; that's why it's called "team" sports.
