Terrell Owens Thread: Hall of Fame?

I can't say I am a big fan even though he was an excellent receiver. I see him as a divisive teammate in a team sport. I was glad when he left.

I strongly believe that he will get in one day but I personally am glad this it hasn't been right away because I don't think that he deserves to get in right away. People who were great players and great teammates are the ones that should get in right away.

I disagree
there are currently people in the HOF who have had legal issues during their time in the NFL which should far outweigh anything TO did
People who get into the HOF should only be judged on their game, not anything else.
We already have the end of the season awards for players who are good people

I don't think off the team is used as a criteria....it's what happens on team that's the issue.
I'm still kinda mad at him for doing what he did his last year here.

Great beast of a player. I haven't seen a guy yet that was as powerful and fast. Dez is close but TO , roids or not was a badd ass dude.
TO was the worst teammate ever after one year signing with a new team

You don't get cut from a team twice if there wasn't any issues

If that's true than the HOF committee needs to be fired and the current one needs to be scrapped and redrafted

It's absolute b******t that a player has to have "friends" to get into the HOF or be a "likeable team mate"

I mean for Christ sakes the dudes stats are arguably the best behind Rice and we Are going to keep him out because he couldn't make friends?
I don't care if a guy like that rubs me the wrong way and neither should the committee, he's the second best WR of all time and his dedication to the game qS never a question
As far as I'm concerned that's more than enough
Thought you guys might enjoy this. Every reception from TO's 20 catch game against the Bears. It was also Jerry Rice's last game @ Candlestick. Still amazed by his combination of size/speed/strength. Enjoy!

its not BS tho, it's the whole reason he doesn't even have better numbers then he has now (because he got himself kicked off good teams)

LOL

The year after he got "kicked off" the 49ers he had: 1200 yards, 13 TDs

The year after he got "kicked off" the Eagles he had: 1180 yards, 12 TDs

The year after he got "kicked off" the Cowboys he had: 829 yards, 5 TDs (at 36 years old with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Trent Edwards as his QBs)

The year after he got "kicked off" the Bills he had: 983 yards, 9 touchdowns

Your implication that his production on his old teams would have exceeded the production he had on his new teams is speculative nonsense. I could see the argument (possibly) about his 36 year old season after departing Dallas being better if he could stay with Romo instead of the trash he had throwing to him in Buffalo. But aside from that, your argument doesnt hold any water at all.

He doesn't need better numbers, he literally has the second best stat line ever for a WR.

I would rather have someone on my team who i don't like than somebody i do like who's work ethic I question. It should be that way for everyone

Also there are guys in there now known for being unlikable team mates
Cris Carter- well known diva
Marvin Harrison- was implicated in a shootout and somehow that is more acceptable than not being liked on your team? b******t
Michael Irvin- MICHAEL IRVIN STABBED A TEAM MATE IN THE NECK WITH A PAIR OF SCISSORS OVER A HAIR CUT. He got in, apparently what TO did was worse?

i'm not saying he needs better numbers, i'm saying he could have finished with even better numbers if he acted normal

Everyone in the NFL has a great work ethic , not all of them have to be asses also

While the guys listed have an incident, TO was causing incidents for years

If he just acted the way when he first came into the league, this wouldn't be so controversial

I love T.O. but he just needs to shut his mouth. Right now he's making it harder for himself to get in. His attitude that he's displaying now is the same attitude he displayed as a player and is the reason he's not in the HOF already.

He also needs to realize that he doesn't need to always say what's on his mind. I'm pretty sure there's players out there that know they should've been in already that feel the same way as T.O. but the difference is they know how to contain their emotions.

Some players passed on before they even made it and never displayed their displeasure for the whole world to see.
Steve Mariucci: TO absolutely deserved to be in the HOF

TO: Mariucci you fake ass motherf**ker

TO has lack of papa issues. Once you abandon me emotionally or otherwise. You is never the same in my eyes
Great player, yes, but do we have to listen to his rants about being neglected each day. This guy has an enormous ego that constantly needs attention. Just keep a low profile and you will get in.
