Terrell Owens Thread: Hall of Fame?

Bad teammate, played small in big games, put him in the Madden hall of fame, or make new Hall of Stats.

This just in, for those who don't remember he dropped a lot of passes....in big games.

Yea, he really played "small' in the Super Bowl with a broken leg .

SMFH.
"Getting a group of people against someone is ganging up. simple as that"

He didn't do that, and nobody said he did that. He privately met with a coach who has an "open door policy" to discuss making the offense better. He did exactly what he was supposed to do. That is not "ganging up." What's more, Owens was never more grateful for Romo than he was that season. Just a few games before, he played with a 40-year-old Brad Johnson, and his numbers tanked (8 catches for 100 yards and 1 TD in 3 games combined). When Romo came back, his numbers shot through the roof. Look it up (you won't, because you're obtuse).

"oh mr Crayton, thinks he can still downplay it after all these years, lol"

In the words of the great Judge Judy: When you are telling the truth, the story never changes.

Compare that to Werder's story, which changed several times in the span of a few days.
The fact the HOF has Michael Irvin in it and not Randy Moss or Terrell Owens is, quite frankly, embarrassing. What morons do they have voting?

Irvin has 3 more Super Bowl Wins than Moss or TO. Irvin has led the league in receiving in his career....TO none. I think Moss maybe once? In the locker room Irvin was known as a leader, TO...well...

It's not the Hall of Statistics....it's the Hall of Fame.

LOL... You just made that up.

Nah, when he was here, he stank up the joint in big games, his catch from Young against the Packers was his only shining moment in the play offs for the Niners.

You can ignore his detractors with your heads in the sand all you like, but they say what the say for a reason.

TO going on the offensive and attacking the HOF committee, is EXACTLY why he won't get in, he is a jerk.

Criteria for HOF:

Numbers...yeah, his are eye popping!

Championships, Divisional, and Super Bowls, he has a few, but not the big prize, but he has enough.

Sportsmanship, and team work, the kind of thing the NFL stand for....nope, none at all, so far he has a chance to get, but he needs to shut his mouth and stop reminding people why he was a transient player.

lastly, importance to the game, basically if I had a one hour show to tell the story of the era you played in, how big is you part. Can the story of you era be told with out? Are you a fit note, to the star? Here is where TO, in my opinion falls short, he is a foot note in the era he played, he is outshines by his peers, so I don't give him this point, he's 2-2.

Lastly, you legacy, what do the writers, the fans, and league remember you for.....he doesn't get this point either.

So, yeah, maybe he gets in when the veterans committee votes him in, and people forget what child he was, but he should shut his mouth and stop reminding them.

If he gets in, good of him, if he has to wait, good for the game.

So you're either not a 49ers fan or you have the worst memory on the planet.

Yes, they say it because they're either media members responsible for the myths that clueless lay people like you believe, or they are, in fact, the lay people like you who believe said myths.

"TO going on the offensive and attacking the HOF committee, is EXACTLY why he won't get in, he is a jerk."

He's a jerk for defending himself against all the jerks who are personally attacking him? The same jerks who literally made things up about him and created conflict out of thin air by taking perfectly politically correct answers to their inflammatory questions and misrepresenting what he said, then feeding said misrepresentations to the QB or coach involved each of the mythological "feuds?"

All of his former teammates disagree with you. https://owensdefense.wordpress.com/2015/08/18/what-a-horrible-teammate111/

But I guess you think you know better than his actual, you know, teammates.

"so far he has a chance to get, but he needs to shut his mouth and stop reminding people why he was a transient player."

Again, you are either completely new to football or your brain is swiss cheese. Owens had a 15-year-career. That is the antithesis of a "transient player." Moreover, if the media is going to keep him out for defending himself against their vicious, despicable attacks, that only proves that the Hall of Fame is a worthless "honor" based on whether a bunch of obnoxious journalist bullies like you or not.

Even in a hypothetical scenario where Owens attacked journalists for no reason, that wouldn't be a reason to keep him out of the Hall of Fame. He could murder all of their families tomorrow and the guidelines would still say they can't take any of that into consideration, since it has nothing to do with his play on the field.

"lastly, importance to the game, basically if I had a one hour show to tell the story of the era you played in, how big is you part. Can the story of you era be told with out? Are you a fit note, to the star? Here is where TO, in my opinion falls short, he is a foot note in the era he played, he is outshines by his peers, so I don't give him this point, he's 2-2."

Again, you are either new to football or you should be placed into a special care facility. What "peers" outshined Owens? He was the biggest star at WR of his era. Even if you think Moss was better, Owens was the most famous by a good margin. And he and Moss were clearly the Top 2 of their era.

"Lastly, you legacy, what do the writers, the fans, and league remember you for.....he doesn't get this point either."

Again, you're just making up credentials that don't exist. Owens should be remembered for what he did on the field, and he should also be remembered as the first victim of the horrifying turn the media took at the turn of the century.

"So, yeah, maybe he gets in when the veterans committee votes him in, and people forget what child he was, but he should shut his mouth and stop reminding them."

Again, if he has to stop defending himself against these despicable idiots' personal attacks, it invalidates the Hall of Fame as a meaningful award.

"If he gets in, good of him, if he has to wait, good for the game."

Owens was a great player with strong character. Him not being in the Hall of Fame is horrible for the game, and certainly for the status of the Hall of Fame.

Yeah, TO did choke a lot when it counted. Still a knucklehead that burned too many bridges.

Only if here were a tad smarter...what's that...he flamed the HOF voting committee...?

Yup, that's TO. Always be an idiot. Dude is burning HOF voting committee bridges.

His nickname should change from TO to GoForBroke.

I think the special kid is going to try and prove how TO isn't burning his bridges now by talking s**t about the HoF, next.

No vanilla with owens.
Great playmaking here, and bad hands there.
So, so many drops dilute the sauce.

Agreed. Terrible Owens belongs in the Clubhouse Cancer Hall of Fame, not the real Hall. He was good for his time, but screwed so many teams and teammates over, including the 49ers. I will swear off football and the Hall of Fame if a cancer like this guy makes it in. The Hall would lost all credibility and send a message to players that they can be absolute A-HOLES, and still get in.

Nope -- Terrible Owens blew his shot. He doesn't deserve it. He never will deserve it. He belongs on the outside, looking in.
