Damn straight.
"After all these years some players don't care enough and probably made amends with it , like what McNabb did"

No, McNabb still bashes Owens and whines about how he was "the most unfairly criticized quarterback in NFL history." He would never in a million years be defending him as a teammate. McNabb is a Grade A jerk.

Also, he's not getting in until the voters change. The people voting against him have had their minds made up from the start.

McNabb apparently doesn't have any ill will towards Owens and even came to his defense this afternoon by saying he believed the former Eagle belonged in the Hall of Fame.

Five was a guest on the Tiki and Tierney Show on CBS Sports Radio and said he absolutely thinks Owens belongs in the Hall.

"The thing about Terrell is, on the field, outstanding talent," McNabb said. "Probably one of the best receivers that I played with in the pro ranks. He's one of the best to have ever done it, and will he be a Hall of Famer? Absolutely."
idk, McNabb did say there is no ill will
Fairly or unfairly I think the Mariucci firing is playing a major role in getting him blackballed from the HOF. How that was handled had a snowball effect on the organization and their standing in the coaching community. He along with Donahue, Paraag, Dr. John played a major role in it.
Of HOF WR in the "contemporary" era, is he of the same stature of these guys?
Probably on the field where it counts, yes.

Tim Brown 1988-2004
Cris Carter 1987-2002
Marvin Harrison 1996-2008
Michael Irvin 1988-1999
Charlie Joiner 1969-1986
Steve Largent 1976-1989
James Lofton 1978-1993
Art Monk 1980-1995
Andre Reed 1985-2000
Jerry Rice 1985-2000
John Stallworth 1974-1987
Lynn Swann 1974-1982
Sure fire HOF receiver, the only question when?

Classless POS. Bill Walsh would have cut this clown after he pulled something like this. This isn't the 49er way. Never has been. One of the worst moments in 49er history.

Going into this game into 2000, we had lost like 14 of our last 15 games dating back to the 1999 season. This action and the subsequent action basically erased the outstanding games that Garner (200 rush yards) and Garcia (4 TDs) had and really put a damper on a really nice win for a really young team. It was an idiotic display on TOs part.

My Hate for the Cowboys had me seeing nothing wrong when it happened (Still love it)

Agreed. Terrible Owens belongs in the Clubhouse Cancer Hall of Fame, not the real Hall. He was good for his time, but screwed so many teams and teammates over, including the 49ers. I will swear off football and the Hall of Fame if a cancer like this guy makes it in. The Hall would lost all credibility and send a message to players that they can be absolute A-HOLES, and still get in.

Nope -- Terrible Owens blew his shot. He doesn't deserve it. He never will deserve it. He belongs on the outside, looking in.

Examples?

Honestly, if it would have stopped at one and then the answer by I think it was emmitt....I would have been fine, because we really did kick the s**t out of them. It was the second one that made it all about TO and basically made the actual game itself irrelevant.

yeah that second one contradicts what he said when asked why he did it
Funny thing is, unless someone heard the story told by JJ Stokes about the entire incident, you dont know the actual story as to why it was done.

But of course, its much easier to just say TO was being selfish and made it all about him.

He did make it all about him.....especially the second one. It should've stopped after the cowboy answered his first one and just been content with winning the game in pretty convincing fashion for a team that was winless until that game. Charlie Garner was the star of that game. TO had like 50 yards and 5 catches.

I stood up from my bar stool and gave the guy a standing ovation for that. Loved it.

This,

cowboys had been punks throughout our rivalry days. They deserved everything they get from us. My hate for the cowboys pardons the behavior.
