Terrell Owens Thread: Hall of Fame?

If Michael Irvin can be elected to the HOF, T.O. certainly should be, too. Irvin was a drug abuser, domestic violater and who knows what else. T.O. has always had a big mouth...that's his biggest detriment. HOF voters need to get over themselves...delaying T.O.'s entry just makes them look like fools.

Classless POS. Bill Walsh would have cut this clown after he pulled something like this. This isn't the 49er way. Never has been. One of the worst moments in 49er history.

Lol wut.

That was a great moment in niner history.

Its just a sport for fun. People in the hall of fame have done way shadier things then that. On the field and off.
Yeah, this is so horrible, but Ken Norton punching the Rams' goal posts in 95, Jerry Rice punching the Saints' logo in 89, Steve Young spiking the ball in a Bears player's face in the 94-95 divisional playoff game...

It didn't put a damper on anything. It just offended your delusional, pussified sensibilities. You get upset about a freak'n celebration, which hurts no one, but then your favorite players are out doing things in their personal lives that would make you want to stop watching football.

calling others delusional is funny....especially, coming from a dude that has 40+ fake accts and a twitter page devoted to defending TO names.

Also the Steve young spike came after being hit late in the end zone by Shaun Gayle.....not exactly apples to apples with TO's b******t (especially the second one) against Dallas in '00. But you keep that TO stroking and spin coming....tell us again, how mike rumph thought he was a good teammate.

Owens asked the wide receivers coach, George Stewart, for permission before he did it. Also, Jerry Rice started a brawl before the game at mid-field of Texas Stadium for the 93-94 NFC Championship Game.

The "49er way" involves Bill Walsh having an extramarital affair and blaming it on Lowell Cohn, Jerry Rice getting caught in a "massage parlor" and blaming it on his teammates playing a trick on him (even though he was notorious for womanizing while married), Jeff Garcia getting a .237 DUI with girls under 21 involved, and Charles Haley masturbating in front of his teammates. There was also Jeff Fuller's DUI, Kevin f*gan, Jeff Bregel, and another player (I forget which) getting in a brawl at a bar, Guy McIntyre being accused of domestic violence (although to be fair, innocent until proven guilty), John Taylor being suspended for heavy coke use and struggling big time with alcohol when he was starting out, Dana Stubblefield being a criminal lowlife, Eddie DeBartolo's sleaziness, and I'm sure there are a good number of other things.

Meanwhile, Owens came in and called everyone "sir" and was the consummate professional. But oh noez, after Emmitt Smith got mad at him going to the star on a whim from the team chaplain during the walkthrough (and asking permission from Stewart to do it), he went back a 2nd time in the back-and-forth rivalry. For this, it's "one of the worst moments in 49er history." The poor Dallas Cowboys!
LOL. How does deflecting from TO's tearing down of his current or former teammates help his case? Don't get me wrong, TO belongs in the hall, but his off field shenanigans merit keeping him from being a first ballot HOFer. What you bring up, true or not (and I can't verify the veracity of it) has Jack $h!t to do with TO comporting himself like an A-hole off the field. That being said, no doubt TO's on field performance merits him being in the HOF.
Don't need to read the BS. TO belongs in the hall for his play on the field. He should not be a first ballot HOFer for his actions off the field, and he isn't. That being said I don't know why he didn't get in on the second ballot, he deserves to be in.

No, McNabb still bashes Owens and whines about how he was "the most unfairly criticized quarterback in NFL history." He would never in a million years be defending him as a teammate. McNabb is a Grade A jerk.

Also, he's not getting in until the voters change. The people voting against him have had their minds made up from the start.

Who voted no?
Whether Irvin was a 1st ballot HOFer or not isn't the issue...he's still in the HOF. If he can get in, T.O. should, too.

Who said TO is banned from the HOF?, he will get in...just like Irvin

Of HOF WR in the "contemporary" era, is he of the same stature of these guys?
Probably on the field where it counts, yes.

Tim Brown 1988-2004
Cris Carter 1987-2002
Marvin Harrison 1996-2008
Michael Irvin 1988-1999
Charlie Joiner 1969-1986
Steve Largent 1976-1989
James Lofton 1978-1993
Art Monk 1980-1995
Andre Reed 1985-2000
Jerry Rice 1985-2000
John Stallworth 1974-1987
Lynn Swann 1974-1982

Outside of Rice, he was a better overall player than all of those guys. That is all that should matter, people are using all sorts of ridiculous BS to justify butt-hurt over how the guy acted off the field when on the field he was clearly and obviously one of the very best of all time.
Not a HOF???? Well if it smells like a rat and looks like a rat it must be a rat. Stop it please with the stupidity. Why is this even a debate? 1st ballot HOF no doubt. HOF has nothing or should have nothing to do with being a D-Bag. HOF skill on Sundays for a long time.
YES...

Ridiculous question... They may as well tear the place down if Owens doesn't get in.

If they want the HOF to be about integrity? Kick O.J. / LT / Irvin / Sapp / Favre / Haley / Harrison / Carter, etc out... And deny entry to Lewis / Moss / AP / Revis, etc.

SIMPLE.
