It didn't put a damper on anything. It just offended your delusional, pussified sensibilities. You get upset about a freak'n celebration, which hurts no one, but then your favorite players are out doing things in their personal lives that would make you want to stop watching football.

The "49er way" involves Bill Walsh having an extramarital affair and blaming it on Lowell Cohn, Jerry Rice getting caught in a "massage parlor" and blaming it on his teammates playing a trick on him (even though he was notorious for womanizing while married), Jeff Garcia getting a .237 DUI with girls under 21 involved, and Charles Haley masturbating in front of his teammates. There was also Jeff Fuller's DUI, Kevin f*gan, Jeff Bregel, and another player (I forget which) getting in a brawl at a bar, Guy McIntyre being accused of domestic violence (although to be fair, innocent until proven guilty), John Taylor being suspended for heavy coke use and struggling big time with alcohol when he was starting out, Dana Stubblefield being a criminal lowlife, Eddie DeBartolo's sleaziness, and I'm sure there are a good number of other things.

Meanwhile, Owens came in and called everyone "sir" and was the consummate professional. But oh noez, after Emmitt Smith got mad at him going to the star on a whim from the team chaplain during the walkthrough (and asking permission from Stewart to do it), he went back a 2nd time in the back-and-forth rivalry. For this, it's "one of the worst moments in 49er history." The poor Dallas Cowboys!

No, McNabb still bashes Owens and whines about how he was "the most unfairly criticized quarterback in NFL history." He would never in a million years be defending him as a teammate. McNabb is a Grade A jerk.

Also, he's not getting in until the voters change. The people voting against him have had their minds made up from the start.
