It's easy for us to pass judgement on these guys but I think back to the crazy stuff I did when I was in my 20s and 30s and I didn't even have any money and certainly no fame. I don't know how I would have handled being rich, famous and having all that free time on my hands while traveling all over the country. People kissing your butt, buying you drinks. Beautiful women hitting on you instead of you hitting on them. They live in a different world.

It's one thing when a guy screws up once or even twice, but some guys get into a death spiral that they can't seem to escape. Some really amazing talent has been totally wasted over the years because of addiction. Ryan Leaf. Todd Marinovich. Darryl Strawberry. Dwight Gooden. Just to name a few.

lol. Wasted? Didn't that dude play in the MLB for 17 years?

Yes he did but the last 8 years when he got into the drugs were wasted. He was a shell of the player he had been. He only had one season during that span where he played 101 games. The rest of them he was playing about 30-40 games. He finished his career with about 335 homers. He could have been a 500 HR guy and a sure HOF player.

I voted for him on the 86 all-star ballot because I was 6 and his last name was Strawberry. I loved strawberries.

It's partly his fault but he has a disease. Alcoholism is something that's tough for anyone to deal with. Add the bi-polar and it's even harder. I know he's gone to clinics and had a lot of help but for some people it's not enough. The can never get over it and constantly relapse. I fear this won't end well for Aldon.

You sound like an enabler. Stop making excuses for this guy. He's a grown ass man at this point.

that is fine but sooner or later you have to look in the mirror and say. i am no longer in control of my life.. ok. fine. no one cares. when i was 21 i was drunk 7 days and nights in a row. one night at the suds factory in fort dodge iowa,. i noticed the beer tasted like water. it was that easy going down. maybe i was not an alcoholic since i still drink but i remember saying ok cc. you are no longer in control of your life and unless you get out of this town. you will be dead at 22. i did . i had enablers with my friends at the time just like aldon had or has. the point is. you have to sooner or later look in the mirror or you will continue along end up dead or with no kidneys

Call the police? Sounds like he attacked him after the fact, not during.

Definitely not call the police. I'm going over to the house and whooping his ass. If he wants to press charges I'll turn myself in and post bail. Beating a guys ass is a slap on the wrist anyways unless he maimed the guy and now he's paralyzed.

Edit: Some things in life need to be handled in house. Calling police should be last resort, they hardly help and often make the situation worse for all parties involved. Don't invite police into your business people! It's actually the guy who got beat ups fault for pressing charges. That's b***h s**t. He should have took his ass whooping like a man.

Doesn't matter. If he's hanging around the type of crowd that would do something like this, he's still stuck on stupid.

Good people don't hang around people who would assault a pregnant woman.

You forgot the biggest reason. The guy is an alcoholic / addict. He needs a full time recovery regime he follows 24/7.

When you're a celebrity, you call the police or you get these scenarios that can end your career
I mean if all the stupid things he did. This ones understandable. I'd have hired goods though... with my nice new contract.

You have a point there. Only because of his celebrity.
