I just would have hated it for him to become an impactful player for either the Seahawks or Cowboys after everything the 49ers did for him.
Now we don't have to worry about that. Still hoping Aldon stops being noteworthy for bad situations.

People can recover, but they must desire it. And even then, it is not easy. It is not as simple as sending someone to rehab and then claiming all is well. It is a daily struggle.

He might need to stay away from Football and do something else to recover.

No idea what happened specifically, but source indicates Aldon Smith's release has to do with violation of trust from the team. Seahawks determined they couldn't count on him and cut ties.
