Talib didn't want to play here, nothing we could do. Going after talib might be a sign of disinterest in Johnson. I'm ok with that.

Or we offered Denver a 6th rd pick and wanted him to restructure his contract and he said F that. We have no idea what the terms were end of the day.

So basically we looked at Vonte Davis that means we're not interested in Johnson as well?

Talib said himself he only wanted to play for Wade Phillips or for NE. Playing for other teams defenses was not an option.

Do the Patriots always win Super Bowls? Let's see, if Pete Carroll didn't screw up the playcall at the 2 yard line, the Pats would have gone to 8 Super Bowls and only won 4 of them. That is a hit rate of 50%. Just for the benchmark, Joe Montana won 4 Super Bowls out of all 4 Super Bowl appearances.

Sounds like you might need a change of underwear. Relax, there is no need to crap in your pants.

The Rams added corners simply because:1) they are sh*t scared of Jimmy G and 2) that's how Wade Philips builds his D.

You can go and break the bank on a couple of free agent corners and it will have zero effect on Peters and Talib. You are just breaking it. Don't worry, we will have additional help in the backend.

But, the key focus will be on Jimmy G and the O to get the job done. At the end of the day, you will need to put points on the board to win games. Having signed our franchise QB, the most urgent task now will be to build the team around him because with proper protection and weapons, Jimmy is going to win us a lot of games. Just look at last year with his 5 consecutive wins, they were all offensive wins, the D hardly did anything.

What you should be thinking about after the Rams added Peters and Talib is how the 9ers is going to counter and not panic and copy them just because they added 2 top corners.

I might add if the Falcons hand the ball to Freeman 3 straight times on the last drive and let Bryant kick a very makeable field goal, the Pats are 3-5 in SBs.

You mean like the patriots "top grade weapons" they always win the super bowl with??

The secondary has been a major weakness for the 49ers for some time now and if that doesn't get addressed the 49ers will continue to struggle getting off the field on third down. As far as I know the rams secondary wasn't half as bad as the 49ers last year but they still came out and added 2 elite corners. I'm not suggesting the 49ers counter anything, just address an important postition that is very weak at the moment.

And seattle isnt inside the 5 without a complete fluke catch by jermaine kearse. It works both ways.
Adding Talib would be fine if he was the only player you needed to make a Super Bowl run. You would be willing to take a chance on his dubious character and age for that one-year, maybe two year run. However, for a young team looking to build around guys of higher character than Talib, the juice may not be worth the squeeze.
Did not want.
Remember back in 2011 when the Eagles got Nnamdi Asomugha and Asante Samuel— I see the Rams like that.

30+ yrs old CB —the drop off in their talent after 30 can be very sudden and terrible

for talib maybe, but peters is still young and could still develop.

Yeah, Peters still has at least 2-4 good years. But something about that trade not right from KC. You don't trade away Peters at the height of his talent when CB of his caliber tough to find and develop in the draft. The Chiefs knows something the rest of the NFL don't to got rid of Peters

I think the rest of the NFL does know what's wrong with him (see Aldon Smith). It's whether the risk is worth the reward. The Rams believe they have a window, so it's worth the risk. The Chiefs are in a quasi rebuilding mode and don't need the threat of a semi annual or annual suspension eating away good portion of their cap flexibility.

I kinda think the Talib trade may have something to do with insurance rather than compliment of Peters.

Hes out to get paid just like no agent Sherman. Whatever. Talibs biggest moment was scuffling with Crabtree.

The Rams are in a different stage of their development than we are and they are essentially mortgaging their future for next season. The problem I see is their high-stakes bet can go really wrong if it doesn't come through. I think that risk compounds with headcases and players over 30 who aren't QBs.
I think it's a stretch to say they are "mortgaging their future". They have given up:
- a 2nd (2019)
- a 4th
- a 5th
- a 7th
- Ogletree

And they've got back:
- Peters
- Talib
- a 4th (NYG)
- a 6th (NYG)
- a 6th (KC)

All things considered I think they've done really well. It's not like they're acquiring free agents and dishing out massive signing bonuses that will haunt them even after players are off the team.

On backfield

Also lost their top pass rush and second line backer, not scared

Adding two pro bowl corners in one off season is very impressive, rams will go into the season as heavy favorites to win the west.

Sneaky rams, if they even have a decent draft they will be the clear offseason winners.

Certainly hope Lynch has a plan at cornerback.

Yup. Solid qb prospect, beast rb and good looking D. Hopefully they pull an "eagles dream team" and flop.
