I expected ST to play inside now that the team has edge rushers but the plays ST was in on I always saw him on the edge. Overall impact for a 3rd overall pick was low. Hopefully this was an anomaly for just one game but I know better than to think that.

Tough game to analyze much but once the all22 is out I'd like to see how he did.

The lining up offsides chit needs to end. Nick and Solly been taking the wrong things from Ford's game.

Sounds like they simply think Armstead is better than Thomas. These guys are doing what they can to win on defense and what they can to keep their jobs. They're gonna play whoever they feel gives them the best chance.

I just don't get it. Thomas isn't exactly doing much to be excited about but I just don't see anything exciting about Armstead. Same bullrush over and over again. I'd like to at least see what Thomas can do at the position that got him drafted so high.

Frustrating.

My hope was that due to the heat we needed a heavy rotation so nobody got too dehydrated/tired. Hope it changes next week.

Good point but then why not rotate him inside and give Defo a rest?

...at least he's consistent??
Should have drafted who I wanted , jamaal Adams
Results are the only metric that matters

Webzone give up on comparing his impact to a third pick... Everyone and their mother now knows he is never going to be that type of impact... Let's shoot for second round impact... ... Then 4th round if that fails

Well AA has a more consistent pass rush move than Thomas so that's probably why. He had a sack this game after all.

What I don't get, is why they insist on starting AA on the edge in base when he's a huge liability in both the pass and run plays to the other side. At least with Thomas he can run some plays from behind if he started at DE.

The rotation should be Bosa, Ford, then Blair and Thomas. Seeing AA on the edge makes zero sense to me.
He's just depth and a rotational player at this point. Expecting any more than that is just asking for too much.

what a waste of a pick
The dude has zero pass rush moves. When ever he did play, once engaged with the lineman he was done. He either got road to the outside way past the QB or completely stonewalled in the inside. It was like everything was a straight arm bull rush without enough strength.

I pretty much wrote off the 2017 draft at this point. At least we got a potential Hall Of Fame tight end out of it......
