Frustrating.

What I dont get is how people see Thomas not getting snaps inside over Armstead and their opinion being "why dont we put Thomas in there to see what he can do?" Obviously, the answer the consistent, albeit generally not gamechanging, play of AA is better than what Thomas would give us. Otherwise, the coaches would play Thomas.

The "we might as well see" opinions are starting to wear thin. Thomas isnt any good.

Exactly. And they should be arguing for him getting more playing time outside in base. Cause at least he has some speed and wouldn't allow some crazy play like Mahomes had in KC last year on his side.

regardless, i'd like to see him out there on 3rd down, in the middle rushing with buckner. he is useless on the edge
He's a decent backup, that's it man. Bosa showed more in his first game as a pro than Solomon has in 2+ seasons. Ugh

what a waste of a pick

I pretty much wrote off the 2017 draft at this point. At least we got a potential Hall Of Fame tight end out of it......

It sure is turning out that way.
I'm tired of bagging on Thomas , but he seems a little undersized to me. He gets swallowed up and disappears like he's getting pushed around by someone that weighs 30 more lbs. than him. Maybe because that's what happens. Anyways having back up depth at d-line seems to be a strength of this team. Bosa needs rest here and there.

Armstead uses the same move time and time again...bullrush. Here and there it works but how many times have we seen him look like a statue as a play goes right by him?

To me Armstead isn't on this roster next year. Thomas is at least still under contract. It's very frustrating that a #3 overall pick who has at least 2 years left on his contract isn't being played at his ideal position. At least put him inside on obvious pass rush downs.

I simply don't get the fascination with Armstead....certainly not on the outside. IMO that's why our pass rush wasn't showing up early in that game.

But I guess it is what it is. Hopefully for Solly's sake a team like NE picks him up where they actually understand how to use tweener type players. Kyle Van Noy had a nice career revival with Belichick. I'm sure they'd love to take Thomas off our hands if we're not going to use him.

Armstead is just a better player than Thomas, time to just accept it and move on man. He looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. He had one good game his entire college career and our rookie GM happened to be a college buddy of his and picked with his heart and not his head. It was a very badly wasted pick.
I kept looking for Thomas on 3rd down passing situations, to rush from the inside, but didn't see him. The coaches don't seem to think much of him.

If he doesn't do something this year, he's officially a bust.

I didn't like the pick at the time, because he seemed to much of a tweener.
He needs to be playing in a 3-4 defense. I'm sure if he's dealt away that team will run that style of defense.

The oxymoron statement of the day.
Only played 12 snaps which even Blair got double that so by the looks of things he's just a rotational piece.

Why is it an oxymoron? It is true.

Although I guess Akhello is redeeming himself now. We'll see if it isn't a fluke
It's crazy how the zone bags on AA. The coaches absolutely love Arik. They think he's a real player. Great run stopper , the "Coaches" say it time and time again. NFL coaches! Why on the webzone will no one listen or believe them?

This is insanity. Yesterday's game was super weird. Sherman said it was the hottest game he's ever played in. The snaps Thomas played we not terrible but yea they obviously think he's not as good as they want. We finally Have a merit based system. Solomon Thomas's production does not merit more playing time. It's that simple
