But how much time is he gonna get b/c he's still behind AA, Buck, and Jones in terms of getting inside snaps?

Depends on him. If he shows out in TC and practice then lots.

saleh... well he's still trying to figure out what wax to use on his head so he can get that matte look.
Salah knew outside wasn't best for Thomas, but the issue was they hoped that until they had better Edge players that Thomas would do well getting playtime on the outside and be better than their non-ideal player options they had their for the time being. It didn't work out that well, but one can understand the logic to get the best talent on the field even if out of their ideal position.
I don't buy that at all. So the plan was to waste 3 years of his career at #3 overall at LEO until they found a real LEO? And then leave him there after it's clearly not a good fit?
I think they just thought they could convert him like about 5 other players they are still trying to covert to new positions and Saleh was/is as green as they come.
Listen to the press conference from Shanny and Lynch dude. Shanny specifically says ST will move inside and the trouble they had was that him and AA were better than specialist edge players they had. Now we have Ford and Bosa we're going to play ST and AA inside.

Last part was too cold, but I agree with the rest.
He should play great for his sister.
You cant use the excuse forever when it impacts your life negatively. But when you are continuing on in the name of a loved one it can stick with you for life. You dont forget the moment you cherished with the ones you love so the motivation will be there. That doesnt preclude other motivations to come in as well, like the last year of a contract before free agency.

Losing a loved one to suicide stays with one forever. He's always going to play for her no doubt, but to write it off as nothing is just dumb.
never did. just said,, you can not keep excusing him for poor play because of this. to me, its always something with him. sure we had crap coaches. we still have a crap dc,, but now i am told we have a better line coach.. we have made a major upgrade on the line., we still have the idiot dc but with the talent we have on the line with three positions. there are no more excuses for thomas.

Thomas was really good when he played inside at the end of the season.
Just use him in the Michael Bennett role as he should have been from the beginning and he will be fine.

But if he doesn't get traded, he has his chance to make an impact.... he just wasnt made to line up against tackles. Let him go straight forward not dip and rip.
KS and Lynch have both stated in the media that Solomon is not available via trade...bu you know what they haven't gone out of their way to say? If AA was or wasn't available....

GM @JohnLynch49ers was asked if Solomon Thomas will be on the #49ers next year... he replied: "Absolutely."

Thomas isn't going anywhere. #Niners
Not huge differences on the 1T and 3T anymore and both interior will play 2i in nickel.
Move this man back inside to his home permanently and he will destroy G's and C's again in run and pass. Never ever play him on the edge again. Never!

AA was actually losing snaps to him to close out last season.

For those who are constantly negative towards ST, I don't understand why they continue to ignore this fact. The dude is excellent when playing the position he's best at. He'll be even better now that he has edge rushers on each side of him.

I'm assuming you're good with ST at big end in base though? Bosa at Leo, Ford at Sam? Then in nickel ST slides inside, Bosa to BE, Ford to Leo? Seems to make the most sense.

I can see him being more the clean up guy like Cowboy was. He may actually engage two lineman so Buckner and co. can get after the QB/RB. That's not a knock, it's vital if anything. I'm excited for him this year.
That or we floated it out, no one offered anything worth a d, and was like nvm.

Thinkin this.. .the team sent feelers out but nothing worthwhile came back. Then with Bosa they thank their lucky stars that they have a chance to prove the #3 pick of Lynch's first draft wasn't a bust.

Or they told Solly that they'reshopping him to make teams think that we were taking QW. The timing is odd. One of the busiest days for a GM and he's meeting with Solly.

Yeah, they were just trying to get the Jets to move up one spot and get another 2nd rounder. Can't play the same hand 2 years in a row.
