I can see him being more the clean up guy like Cowboy was. He may actually engage two lineman so Buckner and co. can get after the QB/RB. That's not a knock, it's vital if anything. I'm excited for him this year.

That or we floated it out, no one offered anything worth a d, and was like nvm.

Or they told Solly that they'reshopping him to make teams think that we were taking QW. The timing is odd. One of the busiest days for a GM and he's meeting with Solly.

Yeah, they were just trying to get the Jets to move up one spot and get another 2nd rounder. Can't play the same hand 2 years in a row.

Or none of it's true.
Well Solomon, you now have the best situation any #3 pick has ever had. Two outstanding edges and one of the best DT's in football surround you.

It is now or never.
Dude needs to put on 15 lbs

Very true. Sherman might have himself an amazing year as well you can really sit on routes when you know the DL is gonna get pressure fast.

Not huge differences on the 1T and 3T anymore and both interior will play 2i in nickel.

Move this man back inside to his home permanently and he will destroy G's and C's again in run and pass. Never ever play him on the edge again. Never!

I'm assuming you're good with ST at big end in base though? Bosa at Leo, Ford at Sam? Then in nickel ST slides inside, Bosa to BE, Ford to Leo? Seems to make the most sense.

Nope...no need for AA to even be here now and no need for ST to play end in any base package again. 100% inside. 3T or 1T. He'll be effective in both run or pass. If we need beef for short yardage or goal line, then put in your big boys like Jones, Street, etc.

So Bosa at BE full time? Ford at Leo. Any scrub at Sam?

Yes sir.

If Saleh was sure it would be a running down, you could slide in a stronger end at LEO like Street, Taylor, Blair. But otherwise, yup...can also use Ford at SAM (100+ snaps last year in coverage with Houston).

saleh... well he's still trying to figure out what wax to use on his head so he can get that matte look.

Salah knew outside wasn't best for Thomas, but the issue was they hoped that until they had better Edge players that Thomas would do well getting playtime on the outside and be better than their non-ideal player options they had their for the time being. It didn't work out that well, but one can understand the logic to get the best talent on the field even if out of their ideal position.
This argument makes more sense to me then "Saleh is a moron and will only play players out of their natural positions," rant.

Lol
"Rant"

Please provide some kind of data to support your Hypothesis.

They're attempting to switch a few other guys out of their natural positions so doing this with ST sounds more reasonable then the, "we just didn't have enough players to play edge" rant.

I think both positions are valid. I went with the no one else argument based on the drafts in 2017/2018 and FA. Not many great edge options both years. They could have done something, but rather than pay too much or draft a guy they weren't high on, they opted to switch Thomas. But if you recall, ST was not playing LEO initially. Wasn't it AA they had at that position? Then Thomas got hurt and when he came back, it was like he drew the short straw with the position he played.
Yeah baby!!

Trade Arik Armstead for Patrick Peterson straight up.

Everytime I see this douche I just wanna punch that stupid smirk off his face. Every other week we have to see him dressed in Star Wars costumes, or wish his family members (whom I don't give two s**ts about) a Happy Birthday on the team feed.

Dude is nothing more than an academic wuss that wanted to be set for life with his own law firm down the road. He'll be next season's "surprise retirement story", reminding everybody about concussions, posing as the rich poster boy for birth control. What a worthless pos, I wonder what excuse he'll have this year to dodge training camp, I bet his great great grandpa will come down with measles, or his cousin's cousin will get the black lung.

But how much time is he gonna get b/c he's still behind AA, Buck, and Jones in terms of getting inside snaps?

Depends on him. If he shows out in TC and practice then lots.

If not, we'll hear that the coaches are practicing him wrong.
Each snap, he just needs to focus on the sound of Kocurek's voice and go fast.

Yes. Exactly it.
If Solly has a break through 3rd season, this line has a chance to be special. As of right now he's the only question mark on the defensive line.

I hope Suh stays a free agent right through training camp and Lynch has his agent's number saved just in case Thomas doesn't take that next big step in his development. Honestly though, I'd sign him right now to a 1 year deal and make Thomas beat him out instead of just handing him the job and hoping for the best.
