which one played in a straight up air raid system?

It's Goff on top and Rosen on bottom. But judging a good player by stats is all I need to know about this guy.
So the guy on the bottom who's putting up air raid numbers playing in a pro style offense is hands down the better player.

So This. We are incredibly unlucky. Look at when we could pick in Top 5. QBs not available when we needed it.

2017 - Niners Pick (2nd, trade down to 3rd for Thomas). First QB Taken - Trubisky (picked 2nd to Bears)
2005 - Niners Pick (1st). First QB - Alex Smith (Niners)
1999 - Niners Pick (3rd, trade down to Skins). First QB - Pennington

Meanwhile you take a look at the Colts and the years when they were Top 5. Two out of the last four times they drafted in the Top 5 they hit on Manning and Luck. The other two were Edgerrin James and Marshall Faulk. Not bad.

If I am the Niners and I am drafting top 5 with Rosen available, I pick him. I go QB regardless if we land Cousins.

if we get cousins it makes 0 sense to go qb with a top pick

If we have the top pick it makes no sense to give a 100 million dollar contract instead of drafting Rosen.

Cousins is a top 10 QB in the NFL...Rosen is an above average prospect. One solidifies the position for at least 6-7 years barring injury the other could easily bust out of the league in 3.

The problem with that is the 49ers are not a QB away they have a lot of holes on the team. No reason to pay a QB $100 million and still be the Lions and lose. Probably best to sign free agents to fill the roster and draft Rosen.

Defense is good enough right now to win with some solid production on offense. That side of the team IMO is an OG, C QB and WR away from being good in this league. Cousins would play a major role in solidifying it...a top round pick on a WR wouldn't hurt either.
I think it all comes down to the pick. If we have #1 we probably go QB if we have #3 we probably bring in KC and go BPA with the top QBs possibly going 1 and 2
Can we really pass on saquon Barkley??? Dude's a game changer.

Rather have Rashaad Penny in the 2nd/3rd round kid doesn't get the recognition cause he goes to San Diego St. But kid can ball

I won't argue that Cousins has played well and is a top 10 QB(which is why I doubt he ever gets to FA) I think Rosen is a fantastic prospect. But he could be a bust but so could any player drafted. At some point you have to take that "risk" and go for broke and draft your Franchise QB. It's not like Rosen is coming out of no where like Bortles or RG3 he has been good since his freshman year. So I don't think the risk is that high of him being a bust.

Barkley is amazing. Yes we can and probably will pass on him if we have the top pick. We have a top 10 running back and are working on extending him. The coaches seem to like Brieda and Williams will get his chances next year since Kyle really liked him.
