Thats nice.

In 2014 Baalke was still being listed as one of the better GMs in football by some in the media.

I never said Belichick was terrible but this perception of him not being able to do any wrong as a GM, yeah that is over with.

albert.haynesworth.
Wonder what kind of contract Jimmy G will get if we sign him before the off season? I don't want to get into the franchise tag game, and he only has 6 quarters of regular season to base his play off of. All though he has been good in pre season, and regarded as a decent QB talent. Does he get 20 million a year with so little experience? I would be trying to get him locked into a 5-6 year deal at around 18 million a season, and guarantee the first 2 seasons fully, and half of his 3rd season, so that would make his guarantees 45 million on a 5/90, or 6/108 deal.

He gets 20 million...if he makes it to F/A he's going to get that easy. Franchise tag is going to push him closer to $22 million.

Hogan was an undrafted free agent. The only time "freak athletes" go undrafted is when they didn't play college football.

Also, pro day 40 times are done on stop watches, meaning a 4.5 is more like a 4.6.

Also, there was a guy from Missouri named Tommy Saunders who did 30 reps at his pro day. He wasn't a freak athlete for the WR position, either. But I'll bet he would be fine in the Patriots' system, assuming he learned their playbook.

I think it'll start at the franchise tag rate of $23M per year.

It is passed time to take this discussion to the NFL Talk forum, has nothing to do with this current subject. Please and thank you.

if BB would think that Sanders were a fit, he would have tried him out at the very least. did he?
His ball gets to the WR much quicker due to the release. Side by side with CJ at 0:29. CJ must learn how to drop and set quicker if he is to get the ball out quicker. JG isn't even trying and that ball just pops out with little wasted movement.

Yup. 5 years 108, or around there IMO is where they will end.

See what I posted above. If you guys want to continue discussing this, please take it to PM or start up a thread in NFL Talk. Its gone well far afield from the original topic.

CJ is a pretty raw rookie. His biggest shortcoming right now is his footwork which is a mess...to put it kindly. I think CJ can improve substantially but I don't see him beating out Garoppolo who's natural skills make him an outstanding fit for a WCO.

Surely you know Chris Hogan was a college lacrosse player who only played one season of football and that was at Monmouth College.

You would think this system would catch on around the league considering it is a sure winner which requires no talent.

Saw this after my last reply. Sorry about that, Phoenix.

No problem, just see this discussion being something that continues for another 20 pages and pushes a lot of the actual Garoppolo stuff to the side. ;)
