The 49ers now have the prettiest quarterback in the NFC West.

If only Kingsbury becones the qb coach. All of our wives/gfs would never complain about watching a game.

They are pissed!

Fleeced Chicago
Fleeced New England
Yeah, I'm reading some of their responses, and they are livid Many are asking about who's gonna be the backup. I can't wait to read their response why they sign Hoyer.

We can still fromt load his deal...but the deal should be a lot less overall.

They probably would of been more pissed if he landed with someone in their division this offseason.
I really like Rosen, but I am more than happy with Garoppolo! Well, if the report is right and Kyle doesn't like the qbs coming out this year, then its understandable. He was the inbetween option between drafting a qb and Cousins. He is younger than Cousins and has nfl experience that obviously the guys coming next year don't.,

He's a UFA after this season so wonder if that means he signs a contract also

Doubt we made this trade without already being in talks with his agent

You bet,otherwise it makes no sense,that`s a high draft pick 2nd round...YEAH!

All his agent would say is "sure we will". At best it is a verbal contract. If JG lights it up, the 49ers will pay out the ass. It's simply logical. JG has all the leverage in this situation. ALL OF IT
we still have a lot of cash to load everything up front and wont hurt us later

Don't understand why people keep saying this. $50 million up front counts the same against our cap 3 years from now as $50 million spread over those 3 years because the NFL allows you to roll over your cap space. If we give a QB a huge deal and he busts, it will significantly impact our cap space whether the money is up front or spread out over the life of the deal.

I'll be happy if we sign Garapollo for between $18-20 million/year. He has all the leverage as an unrestricted free agent and if he plays well over the remaining 8 games of this season, he could get paid a lot more than that.
I thought Guaranteed money (dead cap) can paid more in the first year. its doesn't have to be spread out or spread out evenly ?

My point was that taking a $50 million cap hit in one year does the exact thing to our cap 3 years from now as taking a cap hit of $50 million spread out over 3 years. Signing bonuses are always paid up front but the cap hit is typically spread out. We could front load the salary, but the only advantage is we may be able to sign a player for slightly less total money if we include more money up front assuming the players are risk averse (that backfires sometimes when players try to get new deals rather than playing out their contract). It won't have a drastic impact on our future cap room.

Front loading contracts would have been useful last year for teams looking to spend the bare minimum (89%) total of the cap between 2013-2016. Bad teams could have front loaded deals to hit the 89% floor so they would roll over as much cap room as possible and have players signed on cheap deals beyond 2016. The current spending floor is from 2017-2020, so this isn't really a consideration now.
so, we can do it still

And he doesn't have the stank of the Redskins organization on him.

And just wait to see how they respond if they sign Hoyer to backup Brady.

@ the ppl complaining at this move ....this is well worth the risk

Seriously. Liked a 2nd is a risk anyhow. We have another one. For a potential FQB?

Are you kidding me?

If Baalke was still the GM odds would be that we would waste the 2nd anyway. So let's see several positives here
Shanahan + Garoppolo

I wanted this combo back in January!

lol I like that they're pissed but to say we fleeced them is also laughable. He has 2 starts.
