And yes he's having a good year, I still think he's a top 12-15 QB in this league. Yes, he's not elite, but like I've always said, you don't need a elite QB to win a Super Bowl.

I agree that with THIS roster and Jimmy's "talent" we can win a Super Bowl. The issue (IMO) is his inconsistency,....and JMO, but how much of a student of the game he is.

So while almost everyone is satisfied with a performance like this,...I'm looking for more consistent 1st halves where we can actually put pressure on teams EARLY instead of just run out clock. Because that's what we'll need come playoff time.

I mean, I think it's ok that certain posters such as myself are looking for different markers that signify possible progress from week to week while others are just happy with a W.

Not exactly sure why there's a segment of us here where discussion like that hurts them so much. As you said, we all know by now that he's not an elite player.

Hey you know what, I agree with you. I wish Jimmy and the offense would put pressure on opposing teams early. And I thought the 9ers did at one point when they played KC being up 10-0. I wanted the 9ers to win that game in the worst way.

But getting back to what the OP said, we all get frustrated with Jimmy and the offense, you'll see us admit that in the game day thread, only the game day thread is too long to go back to. lol

Perhaps the issue is there are posters who will never admit to it when Jimmy has a poor performance. They always try to change the subject to how good looking the guy is instead of facing the ugly truth. I don't care how good looking someone is, they are not exempt from criticism for piss poor play.

With that said, Jimmy is having a career season imo. His TD% is good and his INT% is low. He is completing a decent amount of passes outside of his comfort zone and he is forcing less passes into tight coverage. I actually cannot ask much more from him. I hope he keeps it up.

I'll make the assumption that you aren't in the "pro-Jimmy" crowd? I'll also make the assumption that "the problem" you mention is the constant fighting on this thread?

if both those things are true, the actual problem (cause of discord on this thread) is that we (pro-Jimmy / anti-Jimmy) are too quick to point at each other as the problem.

I don't know if Jimmy is good enough or not. I do know this thread is full of terrible communicators…. Unless what we're trying to communicate is that we are always right and you are always wrong.

let's have a great Wednesday

Haha. There might be some serious metro-sexual thing going on. There are a handful of posters in here who are just absolutely obsessed with every little thing he does wrong and the flip side. Some never leave this thread. The DSM-V has already added a Jimmy Garoppolo d/o for 2022.

Same. Keep it rolling but know he's had great runs before before crashing for a few games too. At the end of the day, he's still just Good Jimmy, Bad Jimmy and a temporary employee. Like an American President.

What is DSM-V?

Also, I have no issue with anyone's sexual preference. However, this is a football forum.

Haha. Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. 5th edition. The mental health playbook. Meaning. there seems to be some deep-seeded psychological issues with fans with him; probably based around how handsome and rich he is. Extremes love and hate him for the same reason.

PS: This is a joke.

The DSM-V is the Diagnosis Manual for Psychiatrists and Psychologists. NCommand is talking about a JG disorder being added to the manual.

The manual is very interesting in what personality disorders and mood disorders it defines. I could have a field day just in this thread diagnosing a number of posters. It would be hilarious but I am sure a mod would ban hammer me if I cut loose on it. Particularly if I started diagnosing the mods as well lol.

It may be a joke now, but wasn't there an actual serious conversation on this topic at one point last year? I feel like I remember this narrative in the media somewhere, or maybe on these boards?

edit: I remember it being in regards to jealousy being the root of everyone hating on Jimmy. I don't know, maybe I'm making this up

I said you, because "You" are the one posting it.

Oh, I thought you were going to call me a Jimmy hater. My praises and criticism goes up and down as Jimmy's performances go up and down.

The post I made was directed at a select few who always bring up Jimmy's looks in defense of his poor performances as if it makes up for them. Are you one of those poster's? Just asking since it seems I struck a nerve.

I admittedly read less than 50% of the posts in this thread, but I don't remember seeing what you're describing... Is there a recent example or does this go back a ways?

I don't see myself on either side of the fence. And yes, there is too much bickering and pointing fingers and not enough good discussion when it comes to analysing his performances. But my biggest concern are those who are willing to deny his poor performances because they are so in love with how good looking the guy is. This is a football forum so the discussion should be about football. Not whether you would be happy or not if he knocked your sister up.

Oh…. I'll admit I haven't been able to check these boards as much as I'd like. I too denounce the denial of Jimmy's poor performance due to his stunningly good looks.

also, you don't have to be a starter in this league to knock my sister up… the dude she's with now never even played football. f**king nerd.

Yes. Furlow posted this yesterday.

"Poor Jimmy. So handsome, yet so hated."

I have never seen anyone post personal hateful things about Jimmy. I have only seen folks criticize his poor performances and question his leadership off the field. To make it seem like fans on this forum hate Jimmy as a person is disingenuous and needs to stop.

Hmmm I'm not sure I'd invest in this argument if I were you. He's either being sarcastic or dumb, neither worth arguing against.

im guessing he's being sarcastic.

Probably a good time to move to the next talking point.

Its why I didn't bring up any posters name but you asked for proof. He isn't the only one either. Posts like that are frequent enough to show some concern over. Those statements lower the quality of discussion and paints folks into a negative tone that goes beyond football. I highly doubt any of these so called "Jimmy haters" have a personal hatred for the guy.

No I'm not one of those posters. btw

But it does strike a nerve when people always ask how come we Jimmy fans don't ever admit when he's having a poor performance. All I'm saying is that it's simply not true at all. At least not on my behalf.
