One thing James seems to have over Trent Taylor is long speed. TT has the advantage in short area quickness. Based on combine numbers.

Watching his videos like crazy the last 2 weeks he reminds me a little of Anthony Miller who I absolute love(d) coming out and wanted the 49ers to take him in rd 2

I think Carter and Bolden can still qualify for practice squad, not sure, anyone know for certain?

TT doesn't have the injury history as James does, is stronger, better route runner and more complete route tree. Also, something James cannot get is that TT has a year of experience in the system and can just play.

He's stronger cause of James' two broken collarbones. That's a lot of time missed from working out the upper body to gain some size.

Another reason why he could have slipped...
Also contributing to his draft fall may be his politics. While college football players are not in a position to take a stance during the national anthem, since they're still in the locker room, James in September 2017 made it clear he would kneel in the NFL.
"Oh yeah, I definitely would," he said, via the Daily News Journal.
"So much history is repeating itself," James added. "So that's the most positive way we can do anything about it, taking a knee during the national anthem. Just being active on the stage and that platform, I think they're doing the right thing… we have to make a change, as a culture, as people… we've got to do better."
It'd be speculative to say this is 100 percent why James fell, but teams that did homework on him likely came across this pretty early on. And not being deaf to what's going on in the league, it may have contributed to a few teams' decision to pass, especially in a deep WR class

Might also be because their uniforms are similar lol.
But yea he's faster and slick with his play. Slippery receiver. Miller is much more physical. Has 20 pounds on him. Blew him out the water in strength(bench press). And has those massive hands. Didn't see James make many crazy catches like Miller was making .
Miller's massive hands allow him to make one handed catches like nothing. Having that ability gives him a better catch radius than most the 6"4 receivers(that webzone wanted) that need to use two hands.

So much angst over 40 time! Quickness is more important than .5 of a second in the 40. Hands are much more important than quickness. Temperament is as important as hands. Jerry Rice was too slow, had bad hands, was from a small school...so much angst when Walsh drafted him.

Can't bench a ton when you had two broken collar bones haha. I think James will end up being just fine in strength.

Wow..if that's the case then I'm all on board with this pick. Anthony Miller was my favorite WR in this year's draft and was hoping the Niners picked him up in the 2nd.

When did he heal from them? Yea I feel it tho but either way, miller is clearly stronger. Dude plays much more physical while James is drippin in finesse.

Great, 22 y/o pampered athletes who spend their entire life playing football think they have it figured out because they saw it on CNN, that is a turn off for owners and most fans
