Good for him. I don't think the defense will really miss him.

If it's any consolation, he was a nobody before last year and even considering last year, only 49ers fans know his name or who he is.
I see a regression to the mean...especially since he doesn't have the defensive line guru in Kris Koucerek to coach him up. That guy makes everyone on our line look better (minus Solomon Thomas, he's not a magician). Don't envision we see the same Hyder as last year.
Uhhh didn't overtly trash him; if you knew Kerry hyder before he signed here then give yourself a cookie. Guarantee most didn't and those who did weren't overly fired up or expecting anything from him last year.
we had no pass rush without him last year because everyone was hurt.
No one is "hanging their hat" on dee ford. Actually the opposite; I don't think anyone expects him to play a down I don't.
the Niners are expecting to get some decent situational production out of Samson ebukam, just as they did hyder. Different players and positions but guys they think they can maximize potential with.
nick Bosa instantly makes everyone better. Maybe you forgot that but I haven't. He is why armstead got that contract. Armstead should pay Bosa half his contract. Now you get dj Jones back (vastly underrated) and add ebukam.
they know what they had in hyder: good overachieving player in an awful lost year. I didn't see saleh begging for him in New York either.

He played well last year but he wasn't special. I would of loved to keep him for depth but for some reason it didn't work, def seems we could of resigned him?
maybe we only were offering a one year deal?
I wish him luck when he isn't playing us, happy for him and his family.

What a difference a year makes. Posted that March 23, 2020.

Average players look better when the main crew is stuck on the injured bench. But his effort was good and I am sad to see him go but glad he is making some serious coin to set himself up for life.

It seems like 49er players always end up with the Raiders or the Seahawks.

This really didn't make sense to let him go. We know he's a good fit in this system, and more importantly he stayed healthy. This contract should've been matched honestly, it's not a lot of money for his kind of production. And mostly likely he probably would've been even better this year with everybody healthy again on the DL.

The only reason why I see him getting let go is if you'd want to develop a younger player who can also offer upside on ST. Hyder is a rotational EDGE that probably isn't the greatest fit on ST duties. Willis offers more upside in that role, and I also expect a Day 2 or early Day 3 EDGE pick in the draft.

It also seems like the FO really valued Ebam pretty highly. Supposedly he's gonna have a bigger role on this team than he did with the Rams.
