PETA would probably argue it is offensive to the swine community and to human furries identifying as swine. Would have to be pigs or swine and not the slang term hogs.

It's faulty logic to compare PETA nutjobs to people upset about a literal racial slur as a team name. The world is not a dichotomy. We're taking about a literal racial slur. A slur. As a professional team name. There is nothing unreasonable about people wanting it changed. There IS something unreasonable about equating that to radical animal rights activists getting angry over a team being named after an animal. Side note: you did just inadvertently compare Native Americans to pigs and furries, which is an interesting development.

Wow…settle down it's a joke. I agree with changing their racist name that should have been changed decades ago especially considering the team is based in our national capitol. At no point did I compare the term hogs to redskins. I do not agree with their choice of commander however.

I think it's horrible. No way to shorten it in conversation and when you take Washington out you have to add "the". We playing Commanders. No. We playing the Commanders. Ugh. It's too long.

I think part of it may be all the good names were bought up in hopes if extorting Snyder.

Knowing how much of a cheapskate Snyder is, they more then likely went into it with this approach

• No name with implied Native American connections (so something like Red Hawks or Red Wolves is out)
• Do it as cheaply as possible.
• Tie it to the military somehow

That's how you end up with a generic name, generic uniforms and a generic logo, which I guess is perfect for a s**t owner like Snyder.
