Mac Jones-QB-Jaguars

At least it wasn't Jake Frohm

That's one of my big pet peeves. It is very rare a QB lifts his elbow higher than his wrist on the load and is consistently accurate or is able to throw from a tight pocket. He may be able to over come this, but I will go with the numbers on this one.

Dude is gonna have 50 strip fumbles and 100 sacks with his 3.18 TTT.

2nd round project.

Well what do you think about Mark Jones not being able to escape the pocket if his life depended on it. I don't see him even being able to go 5 yards to the right or left without having a linebacker or a defense of lineman smack in the crap out of him

You don't need to escape a pocket when you own it.

There have been far greater successful immobile QBs in terms of distributing the football than there have been 4.5 40 QBs. Being able to outrun a defense is a crutch as a QB. You have 5 players on your side of the ball that can do it better than you and your sole job is to get them the ball as quick as possible.

So being able to create when a play breaks down is not something Kyle interested in, cause his plays never break down and our OL doesn't allow any pressure. This is rich

A lot of reasons a play breaks down that is designed by an offensive guy like Kyle is because the QB missed an opportunity.

So it's the QBs fault? Will it still be the QBs fault if it's Mac Jones or does it default to OL, WR, etc? Cuz you know... he's a super fast processor. Lol. Getting deep in here.

Let's not act like Jones is Drew Bledsoe. The dude is tactically mobile.

He ran a 4.7 40, and didn't exactly suck in the 3 cone drill. Nobody will mistake him for Michael Vick, but he's about as mobile as you would need a quarterback of his mold to be.

Nah, he's 10 times more mobile than a QB of his mold is supposed to be.

This keeps getting better and better, anything short of Peyton Manning now is underselling this clown. Rejoice in that Kyle found his Kirk Cousins true love, mediocrity awaits. Please Jimmy stay healthy this year.

Or actually gave a s**t about pass protection.

Either way, that man has his blind spots.

god i hope shanahan fixes fields' mechanics

Not sure Shannahan is the 'fix-it' type of HC. He would rather spend more time teaching the kid his playbook and how to read defenses. It's why M.Jones makes better sense. Reality is it's on the player to do it and if fields doesn't it could easily go the Bortles route...

I think if Fields. sits for a year behind Jimmy then he could. If he starts immediately then probably not.

Fields at Georgia

He's had 3 years to fix...

Damn, forgot about that one. You got me there. I'm just going to stop commenting and overthinking this. I'll wait until draft day.

That was a good read. I've been doing some more on the three QB options and this would be such a difficult decision for me to choose between Mac Jones and Trey Lance.

Fields is still just on a different level for me, it's the complete package an arm that you marvel at, accuracy to go with and running threat that has to be respected

Yea bad read. Can be fixed.
Dont have the arm strength to throw off balance - can't be fixed.
Has anyone discussed the possibility that salary cap is driving this decision? Follow me here. Mac Jones is the safest pick with the highest floor is what most people are saying. If we can keep Fred Warner, Nick Bosa and maybe one or two of our DB's with the cap savings of moving on from Garrapolo while still being efficient enough at QB to win a superbowl, would that be smart? If both Warner and Bosa are worth first round picks, is it smart to trade first round picks to be able to have the cap room to keep them, and others? Jason Verett, if he stays healthy and plays well again will be highly paid. Deebo, in another year will start wanting to talk contract extension. If they go with a boom/bust qb, and are wrong its all for not. Not sure my logic holds but the extra 20+ million/year will certainly help keep our core players.

I just saw maybe the defensive play of the year. Not sure there is much to learn from that.
