Nah I just won't be as invested in this team, like I have been which his probably a good thing..... I usually fly out and watch a game or drive somewhere...won't be spending the cash.

I'll root for whomever wears the red and gold regardless.

Yup. Safe bet. Then again, he'll probably be sitting all year so it'll just be hypothetical cries.

plenty of pass-protection tears though....that's gonna flood the streets for yrs under Jones. I can see it now lol.

I mean I'll be mad about it but then will quickly move on and support/root for him to be great. Nothing will change as a fan except my confidence in Shanahan/Lynch being here long term significantly decreases.

I wouldn't say Mac isn't an upgrade over Jimmy. Mac seems to at least move a little in the pocket and hits people in stride more often than Jimmy does.

He's an elite pocket passer - much better than James.

Strongly disagree...People are saying that but it doesn't show up on the tape. There is nothing that screams elite about Mac's game. He is very good at a lot of things, He is a little more shifty in the pocket but he has no where near an elite arm or legs or really anything. He isn't going to unlock the deep ball for us, he isn't going to bring a facet to the running game we didn't have. We are largely going to get a plug and play of Jimmy that ideally stays more healthy. Sure over time he might edge him out slightly in a few statistics but he brings literally nothing new to the table that Jimmy wasn't save for hopefully availability and definitely a much cheaper contract for about 4 years.

This!

If I didn't know the draft hasn't happened yet, I would've thought Mac Jones was our QB!

Hey too each their own, personally I'm not gonna spend $500-$1000 to go watch Mac Jones. I will root for every Niner and hope he succeeds.

Some people will keep b***hing. Most will understand it is what it is and hope Kyle got his QB version of Aiyuk.

We're all 49er fans, whoever the pick is I'd expect everyone to hope they're the best QB in the league or at least the draft class.

However until he's the pick...people can keep continue to question the idea of him being that.

Oooof moving up a little for Aiyuk vs 3 1sts and a 3rd for Jones??

I mean we're talking about the biggest draft pick in what team history?

Brother please. Like the 20 pocket passers he's brought in, Kyle has his blind spots. That will ALWAYS be an issue here, unfortunately, no matter the QB. I've accepted that for years.

So even if your boy Jones is out there racking up championships you'll still be less invested because you were wrong?

It was reported that Mac Jones absolutely blew away an NFL team in his interview.
