I don't classify myself as a hater, but I see a lot of comments confused about the emotional reaction to Mac Jones. I know he would have been a little more accepted if we took him at 12. But to give up what we did to move up to take what people are calling "a great processor" is gonna fan some flames.
I would take the best non quarterback on the board to help the team this year, and classify as an all pro before I can accept Mac Jones. Don't hate em'. Not a good use of resources.

It's really all about philosophy like Cossell said, whether you're inside NFL circles, coaches, personnel or fans.

Mac - elite accuracy, intelligence, processing and leadership. Physically, average and below average off schedule ability. Sarkisian threw everything but the kitchen sink at Jones in the Crimson Tide offense and gave him more freedom than any QB he's ever had. The end results spoke for themselves

Fields/Lance - elite top athletic profiles, mobility to escape and create off schedule throws but run as a last resort, excellent for a move offense, eye popping 40's, big arms, untapped ceiling and diversity. Very very bright.

Mac's college experience is further proof all 3 should sit for a year. All have unique elite skill sets. Kyle will get the max from each.

Can't wait for 2022.

Thats the thing. You're stating Mac has elite accuracy, intelligence, processing, and leadership but failing to mention those attributes to Fields/Lance etc. Nothing says either of those guys are not smart or great leaders etc. Fields, at least, has shown to be consistently accurate as well. And Processing is debatable as well. Even you think Mac is better in all these qualities (I don't) I think each is up for debate if he's better and if so, how much better is he and is he better in such a way that with good coaching the other prospects could not catch up.

Whereas the qualities you've listed for Fields/Lance we know the gap is wide and Mac is never catching up no matter how much better shape he can get into and those attributes are generally not coachable.

Plain and simple he's a lesser prospect with a media machine pumping him up artificially.

Aside from Adam assisting with Mike Shanahan's book, Adam did an interview piece on both Kyle and Simms 20 years ago. And they've been close every since with strong ties to both the Shanahan's and Simm's families. I'm GUESSING that why he sounds so confident in Mac.

Simms AFTER the 2020 NFL Draft:
When Kyle says something about receivers, I listen, and I perk up. He looks at it in-depth and really has great nuance things that he looks for at the position that I don't think a lot of people have an eye to see. He's taught me a lot. I knew Kyle was hot on Aiyuk. I left him off my mock draft because I didn't want to screw him over. He [Kyle] thinks he [Aiyuk] can be Isaac Bruce.

Simms BEFORE the 2020 NFL Draft:
Simms' Top Five Prospects:
Oklahoma's CeeDee Lamb (#1),
LSU's Justin Jefferson (#2),
Alabama's Henry Ruggs III (#3),
Penn State's KJ Hamler (#4),
Clemson's Tee Higgins (#5)
.............

.............
Brings up Aiyuk around 9th as "the kid from Arizona State" (57:30,...cant even remember his name,...lol)

Lol but yes,...let's keep using Simms' "connections" to the 49ers in 2021,... a month before the draft as if he's really been told anything decisive, let alone sharing it so early.

You are aware that full offenses typically have a s**t ton of short RAC designs too. Have you heard of Kyle Shanahan? When you have elite RAC monsters like Deebo and Aiyuk, you're QB can actually have negative air yards with monster RAC. That's more if a testament to the type of skill sets a team has than an indictment of the QB himself.

Went quiet lol, no offense NC I don't think he actually cares what you have to say

Lol explain to me all those ridiculous play calls that he had to run? It's was a glorified spread offense...show me all the RPO/bubble screens Kyle ran? Even THL said he didn't see a ton of timing/rhythm throws from that bama offense.

the amount of puffing up for this kid is down right stupid. I'm not sure how many more articles and clips you need to see, but it's clear you've made your bed on who you like...

Talking about the Adam Schefter connection dots to the Shanahans.
I don't like to boast about my intel but I do have one insider that's pretty close to the 49ers and the league in general. He's been pretty spot on with everything he's told me so far.

He's reporting, and you can believe me or not, that Mac Jones is indeed.... fat.

Big, if true.

Yes he did.

Here's your explanation. It's a college offense. A college offense that he fully opened up for Mac like no other. Why? 1. He was prepared and 2. It's rare to get the opportunity to red shirt a QB and even be in position to fully open up an offense as they're usually gone to the pros before you get a chance.

Ohhhh, you know nothing on this one. That one made me laugh hard.

What I'm doing is pushing back on your blind allegiance as Mac is a very very real possibility here. And to dismiss that is unfair to the rest of us who want to consider all candidates objectively.

Agree. Even the .00001% chance Trevor Lawrence drops to #3.

But seriously they should be deep diving on all three and having the entire staff evaluating all 3 and that probably includes defensive staff too. Its too big a decision to just leave it to four or five people, let alone just Kyle.

It certainly sounds like they are. Full double blind study too.

Agree, with the right kind of personnel around him, he can do what you said above.

Amazing.

Forget whether or not he can be a good player for several years. We're putting guys @ HOF level production now with barely a season of college played on Super Teams.

Why not, I've said pretty much the same thing about Fields, but I don't get as much flack about it.

He did not respond after your original tweet.

lol you completely ignored my question...explain to me all the crazy nuances Jones had deal with? What did he "open up" overall? Jones had a better deep ball then Tua. Jones was also worse in the intermediate routes compared to Tua.

overall they ran damn near the same offense... Like Ben responded to you, in that spread offense what he was asked to do more than anything was determine how many players were in the box. Wow ground breaking stuff.

Ive been completely objective about Jones and I don't see any special qualities. He's a system QB and he will never be a top 5 QB in this league...you say I ride the company line and always support what they do...well you will be complete wrong on that take if they make one of the dumbest picks in team history.
