Who said you would?

Kyle, himself, could call you personally and tell you he's drafting Mac and you'd probably call him a liar.

Lol,...a few replies down tho...

Gold.

Does get crazier and crazier loool

Full media frenzy. "I'm not saying I disagree with him, just that I disagree with him. If i had to pick today...but all are being considered."

We're about to cycle to Fields then Lance and finally, back to Mac a couple days before the draft.

That's what media does. That's why I laugh when ppl think that media knows who the Niners are gonna draft. No one knows. I doubt Shanahan knows right now - or he won't be doing a private pro day workout with Fields.

You must think people would care or why would you post it?

We don't know who he's drafting @ #3. We just know who he's not drafting @ #3 (Jones). That's the whole thing about it.

LOL and it's not me just saying that. Middelkauf talking to one of his scout friends said the same thing....he's basically saying he's better than every single HC in football and his scheme will win 100% of the time. Worked real great so far

It's okay to say you have a great play-caller and good HC BUT an ass hat when it comes to evaluation of talent.... and an arrogant coach who doesn't believe in talent. BUT hey it will be comical to watch you cry about PP while mayo mac get's crushed behind a Kyle' built OL.

They've really crushed draft picks based on "scheme fits" vs elite level talent.

If thats the case it should be major cause for concern
There is definitely something to a coach and his ego. It's why so many coaches wash out, because they refuse to listen to the people around them... talent evaluators, coordinators, etc and refuse to adapt to changes in the game.

I mentioned in the Mac Jones thread why Nick Saban had been so successful in college... he's mentioned several times that he let's his people do the jobs they were hired to. Obviously, he has the final say, but more often than not great coaches simply rely on those around them.

Dude works for ESPN now, it's all about controversy and having debating points. Half those people talk about who's gonna be on who's side before they start debating...it's entertainment more than anything.

He also got called out a couple tweets later and agreed with the writer (about him not being a fit)...love his rebuttal, I like his RPOs and "play action" which doesn't fit what SF does at all lol.

Not neccesarily. The 49ers felt they needed a quarterback and traded up to be in position to take one of the top 3 guys. I personally feel that Wilson, Fields and Lance can all be very successful in the league, specifically the latter two. If he felt on film these guys could be franchise players and simply wanted to be able to draft one, and decide from there who he liked best... well, that's fine with me.

You can call it whatever you want - but the fact Shanahan will run Fields and Lance thru drills tells me - he is keeping an open mind about his decision. When you have so much riding on this one pick - you make sure you use as much time as possible to reach the right decision. Draft isn't exact science.

I read somewhere that Mac Jones had a total of 10 snaps under center where he dropped back to pass. How is he the best fit for Shanahan's offense in this draft is beyond me.

I don't think you make that move and give up all that draft capital in order to decide who the guy is you only make that move for your guy, someone falling to three unexpectedly would be the exception.

What is it that makes Fields and Lance more likely to be successful than Wilson in your opinion?

They were sure when they made the trade. They are just dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

Nah. He knows who he wants. This is all to cushion criticism. Imagine if Kyle ONLY goes to Mac Jones' pro day and selects Mac Jones. He would get heavily criticized for not even making an attempt to look at the other QBs.

Kyle knows who he wants. Him attending the pro days is not going to change that.
