If thats the case it should be major cause for concern

You can call it whatever you want - but the fact Shanahan will run Fields and Lance thru drills tells me - he is keeping an open mind about his decision. When you have so much riding on this one pick - you make sure you use as much time as possible to reach the right decision. Draft isn't exact science.

Nah. He knows who he wants. This is all to cushion criticism. Imagine if Kyle ONLY goes to Mac Jones' pro day and selects Mac Jones. He would get heavily criticized for not even making an attempt to look at the other QBs.

Kyle knows who he wants. Him attending the pro days is not going to change that.

If this was the case - he could have just gone to Fields pro-day and selected Mac Jones. lol

He would have saved his 2 days this month...and by your theory - he wasted another day by going to Mac Jones pro-day since he already knew he was gonna draft him.

I personally think Shanahan is a kind of a guy who values his time very much.

You have to show ownership (especially York), that you are doing your due diligence when you convinced him in a meeting that you were trading up to take Jones.

Is it really due diligence when it's just performative and you've already arrived at your conclusion?

It's a formality and for show.
I think it's the time from theday of the trade to the draft that makes it hard. It would have been easier to handle of it was a few days before.

A few minutes before the 49ers picked would have been ideal for me. We could have skipped all these bi-polar shifts from excitement to anxiety to pessimism to anger to excitement to anxiety to pessimism to....

The team will do their due diligence and settle upon the guy they like best and I have a feeling that they've had a strong favorite all along and they are trying to see if anyone else can convince them to step off that choice.

I will convince them. Just give me Kyles cell.

This makes sense. I agree they had a strong preference from the start, but they would be doing the organization a disservice by not doing their due diligence. They already made the trade, why not?

Thank you Phoenix for doing something about this thread. It has been completely out of control with people freaking out with their hate and trashing the QB's. I was going to bail, but instead had blocked 20 people. Hope to see better going forward.

We have likely 3 QB's to consider. We all have our favorite just like the coaches. This month after the trade gives us and them a chance to learn more about each of the QB's and learn to accept the positives if that QB is the pick. I've learned more about all of them since then. It's just hard wading through the crap to find the good stuff. Thanks everyone for the great videos and tweet peoples have been adding.
Okcits not funny anymore, stop with the Jones talk. It's gonna be Fields

Dude, no matter how much you may want Mac Jones, blowing up Kyle's phone is not the answer.
No matter who pick, half the people watching will be...

You're absolutely right. Give me his home address!

Come Draft night you guys better setup a swear jar thread or something.....

Actually I would label it: Tell us how you really feel about the pick AND about the Webzone Mods. No punishment will occur in this thread etc.....

Disagree. I bet the vast majority of the fanbase would be perfectly fine with Fields. I think Lance would be more controversial and Jones would ultimately be the most polarizing by far.

Uh, no. Half the people will not say "wtf?!" if we draft fields. 95% of football fans WILL say " wtf?!" if we draft Mac Jones (our fans a " wtf?! No!!!" fans of other teams "wtf?! Lol!!!!")

I see it more along the lines of 80-90% being cool with Fields, 60-70% being cool with Lance, 20-30% being okay with Jones. Just my feeling based on what I've seen from 49ers fans here and elsewhere. Fields by far has received the least amount of criticism and "oh hell no, this guy's gonna suck" comments, at least from 49ers fans IMO.

Ummm no, that's going to be the reaction for one QB only.

Agree, they have a whole month from the trade to do their investigations before the draft. I'm sure they've called out retired FBI, CIA, and KGB agents to do their stuff.
