This one is on Ryans

I thought the defense came to play and was holding up until SF finally got the lead. Then they played soft and let it slip away. Way too soft a zone on that last drive.

Agree. They seemed to play scared to lose at that point instead of playing to win.

Am I the only one tired of relying on defense to win games? Green Bay's D was suspect at best going into tonight. But shutting down our run game and forcing Jimmy to beat ANY team is a recipe for success.

I am tired of being a run first team that has to be top 5 in defense to have a chance to win a trophy. But that has been the story the last 15 years. Better make due with what we have.

37 seconds was too much time, any other D normally though it's not. Already had a feeling after juice got the TD it wasn't over.

Look at the Rams. They are scary on both sides right now.

Dominated in all three phases. Unfortunately, it might be the greatest show on the turf once again

YES they are.... but that's simply the result of an aggressive organization who is willing to gamble on the future to win NOW and win the next couple of years..

their thinking is that if they don't make this kinda move, that they will be axed anyway so why the heck should they save all the picks and money ... for who?? for what?? for the next coaching staff??

LIKE Bill Parcells said, " you want me to cook the dinner, you oughta let me do the grocery as well " ..

Instead of trading for Jalen, we ended up keeping the picks and some money which gave us KINLAW - AIYUK - WARD & AA..

And all they needed to do was get a good QB…..
Defense definitely let us down here.... And if you look at the previous games Detroit and Philly was able to move the ball against us. If the rush is not getting there and our backend is suspect and allowing wide open receivers constantly we have no chance at winning anything substantial especially in this conference. I'm questioning the scheme and the GM not fortifying this position during the off season. Tarrt, Ward, and all the CB's need to be reevaluated along with whatever coverage DeMeco is calling at the end of games....... 37sec........smh

DOUBLE ADAMS…..JFC!!!!!!

Feel the exact same way!!!
It just doesn't feel like it's the players so much as the scheme. We're seemingly never in the right places. We're getting carved right up the middle, which is inexcusable with our front. And we leave every WR uncovered or single-covered. Whenever there's supposed to be roll coverage from the Safeties, they are lazily late. This is all on Ryans IMO.

This one is on both coaches. Shanahan horrible clock management at the end, and Ryans' gameplan was horrific on D.
If demeco ryans was the defensive coordinator of the 1981 49ers, the catch would never have been remembered. Unacceptable.
Dude is soft. Hope he learns from it

Collinsworth (hates 49ers) said 49ers D was playing straight up, old school, not disguising anything, man coverage often. Was that true? And if so, how did that differ from the way our D played the Pack in 19?
