Most explosive returner since Ted Ginn.

I can't really agree with the Deebo comparison. Maybe he'll get a few Jet Sweeps but he doesn't have the build and violence of Deebo. No WR really compares to Deebo aside maybe Cordarelle Patterson as a weapon out of backfield and AJ Brown in terms of physicality.

Maybe too much to ask but I wanna see him go down and work with Trey and Aiyuk in SoCal or maybe with Deebo down south

Per Maiocco's article from today he does know Deebo from a few years back. Also he and Maiocco seem to expect him to get work in that slot role, not just gadgets and returns. Let's all hope he does better here than he has previously—I think Kyle's shown a pretty deft eye for WR talent so I'm cautiously optimistic

As I said not a 2yr $10.4M deal, it's $4M over 2yrs, $1.91M cap number for 2022, & $2.09M in 2023, $2M APY, so we didn't overpay, must have $6.4M in incentives, so maybe $3.2M a year, $1.75M signing bonus, his $1.035M 2022 base is fully GTD, his 2023 base of $1.08M is guaranteed for injury, fully on April 1, 2023.

Yeah this is what I theorized as well upon his signing. Screens, reverses, end arounds, and returns. Then I think he'll be used as a change up in the slot to Jennings. They are two different types of athletes that offer some different physical traits Kyle can tap into from that slot position .

One of the best things about this signing is no one is going to complain when he's one of the six WRs to make the roster. Last few years felt like that 6th receiver spot was wasted and could've been used better (James, Benjamin). Excited to see what we do with him at WR.
Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, and McCloud is a nice 4 to start with.

I concur! He is a good slot wr that can be used on end arounds and quick screens. Shifty guy who is a very good PR and will be a massive upgrade to our return game. I don't know about many of you but I was sick and tired of watching our punt returners fair catch the ball or worried if they're going to muff the punt. The decade of torture is over. That's worth a lot of money

Not just you. When "don't screw up" is your only hope for ST each week you're probably not in a good spot.

Very true. We improved dramatically on a pretty important aspect of the 3 phases. That could easily win us/not lose us 2-3 games. That's the difference in winning the division or even a possible bye week.
