Good to have a good return guy. not counting on much in the wide out department.... to bad the team did not over spend on chandler jones as compared to this guy but at least they are addressing our special teams that were horrific . now this guy does fumble but hope he does more good than bad

Imagine it took all these years and a miracle at GB to realize having a great special teams matters...

Bright side - I literally said after that win I hope this makes Kyle realize he needs to invest more into the ST side and they are.

Being paid that, I think Kyle has more planned for McCloud than just STs. He can play small slot WR as a change up from Jennings if the team needs speed over size. He's a fumbler with 4 last season, and 11 in 4 years.

He better cut down on that then. No faster way to get on Kyle's doghouse than fumbling.

A quick search will bring up articles about how he fumbles and how Mike Tomlin had to make a decision to stay with McCloud despite his fumbling. I like to play it safe on punt return - securing the possession is priority one and two and three. Return yards are a bonus.

He needs to not fumble so much or at least be so explosive that we can live with a fumble here and there. Not my preferred style of punt returner. I'm fine with boring but secure when it comes to punt returns.

Primary return man and gadget WR4 or WR5. Speed for Lance big arm. Nice pickup

Does he have deep speed?

He ran a 4.53 at the combine. He's a lighter, smaller, poor man's Deebo Samuel. Like Deebo he's like a RB playing WR (was a RB in high school), plays with physicality, and very good lower body strength. And as mentioned he could play CB too. Personally I don't see him being much more than our return specialist and special teams player. Given his DB skills I'd say he'll be an ideal gunner on kickoffs, a good replacement for Mostert. So I say a decent pickup.

A WR/PR that fumbles a lot. That's not good.
Don't know enough about him to form an opinion . Sounds like he's a good returner so I guess that's good

He still lead the league in punt returns and 4th in kick returns. This is an area that has been a problem for the Niners for some time.
Really like this signing

Only if Gunn ...
Currently:

Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, RayRay, KeeSaen and Mack.

Interesting group. Wonder if they bring back Sanu and/or Richie and Benjamin?

That's what is exciting about it for sure.
