When I watch how calmly Mahomes marches his team downfield when trailing late, he reminds me of Montana. Different style but the same cool demeanor. That may be one of the top 2 or 3 traits for a winning QB.

Yeah, he is definitely this generations Montana and Brady. I wish we had him, but it is what it is. Burrow and Allen are not even close to his level. They are good in there own right but still have a ways to go before even being on Mahomes level. How about a Super bowl win to their name.

Josh Allen already beat Mahomes this year with a 4th quarter lead change drive by Allen and then Mahomes threw a game ending INT on the first play of his chance to lead a game winning drive. Not even close lol

Im talking about overall body of work. Montana and Brady lost individual games to other good quarterbacks and not so good quarterbacks.

So the body of work is 1 super bowl win over the other QBs that's not far off. But if your not watching those guys play you may believe Mahomes is way better.

I only watch the 49ers games. I don't watch other teams unless they play us. Playoffs not counting. I would think if you took a poll most people would agree Mahomes is the best in game today. I'm not gonna keep going in circles with you.

I don't think Burrow or Allen with the exact same roster as KC is still doing what Mahomes did last night. And Burrow didn't beat Mahomes last year. The Bengals beat the Chiefs.

When you watch a QB like Mahomes you see the inangibles that make a player stand out from the rest. He's not the biggest and he's not the best runner. He has a very good arm but others are just as good or better. What he has is that special ability to stay cool in any situation and make plays from anywhere on the field. Crazy sidearm throws. Deep passes right on target. Scrambles that pickup first downs. The ability to spot the open receiver downfield. All things that make a QB great instead of just good.
Last night Justin Herbert put his team ahead with less than 2 minutes to play. Mahomes calmly took the field and marched the Chiefs down the field in about 80 seconds. T. Game over.
I want one of those.
Agreed. Like I said in a previous thread. Mahomes is on an island by himself.
Josh Allen and Joe Burrow aren't that far behind.
they about 5 islands away. I don't think either guy could do what Mahomes did last night with a bunch of scrubs at wr. It was Kelce and 2 other te's I've never heard of.
I'd take Kelce over Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd. I mean Joe Burrow beat Mahomes last year when he had Cheetah and Kelce.

Of course, but I doubt anyone on the sidelines or in the stands thought Mahomes wasn't going to lead that team down the field and at least put them in position to win. Just like Sam Wyche, the Bengals coach as he watched Montana lead them down for a game winning TD. You could see it in Herbert's face when they showed him on the sidelines.

Mahomes was awful in the 2nd half of the Bengals game especially where he damn near fumbled the game away before the end of regulation, and then threw it away in OT. Plus the pre-halftime brainfart short of the goal line (arguably more Tyreek's fault) that let the clock run to 0s before they could score anything.

Herbert was having flashbacks to last season when all he could do is watch Mahomes take the Chiefs all the way down for the game-winning TD in OT

Funny way of showing that.
