York: On-field reasons for coaching change

"You look at our offense last year," York said. "It wasn't I think where it should have been. I think we have better talent than what our results showed. And again, I am not the expert in terms of calling X's and O's, and writing plays and doing things like that, but I know that our players are equipped to go play the game and compete for championships. And we need to make sure that we're all in this thing together, and moving forward and giving ourselves a chance to ultimately host and win the Super Bowl this year."

I think it was an ACTUAL class move by Jed, choosing not to state that it was evident that change was necessary, but that Harbaugh was not open/able to change. I'd have said that in a heartbeat.
And the answer is Tomsula? The great innovator of offensive X and Os.
When people judge, they should look at the overall picture... Yes the offense sucked... But what people don't talk about is Alex Boone SH!tting the bed, Mike iupat sticking up the place, vernon with his back, crabtree with his leg. Hardly talk about those facts tho? I don't care who coached this team last year with all this mess just on the offense side of the ball against a seattle team or Arizona.. If your going to put blame, don't highlight bc the 70% winning ratio is what actually counts, bottom line... Bunch of ungrateful ppl here. Taking one season and highlighting it. Stop it.

We're you for Bochy's firing after the S.F. Giants were last in offence and under .500 in 2013 ?......Hmm

Lol thats a completely different situation. Bochy had already won 2 world series
Not to mention that even though their "offence" was lack luster, their run differential was still positive (which means Bochy did a tremendous job on our pitching staff)

Also they didn't finish last
21st in runs scored
10th in hits
Overall ranking of 21st out of 30 on ESPN

Harbaugh on the other hand took us to the big game once. He managed to turn a team loaded with talent from a NFC champ game to an 8-8 team with a regressing QB and one of the worst organized offenses I have ever seen.

Actually Superbowls are what counts. Andy Reid would still be in Philly if it was all about wins. John Fox would be in Denver.

Last year was not a one off year. It was a glimpse into the foreseeable future had they just stayed the course. Coaches were clueless how to fix the offense and that ineptness would have continued to the detriment of Colins development. Hell I doubt Harbaugh would've ever allowed him to train with Kurt Warner.

I know right!? If I was Jed, I may have been tempted to pull an Elway here, "Well, after we sat down and talked, it was evident that we had different philosophies on how to win a Superbowl. We felt like we gave Harbaugh everything we could...14 offensive coaches including a secret consultant this past off season just for Greg Roman...highest paid staff in the NFL...felt Baalke did a terrific job of giving Harbaugh all he wanted/needed to expand the offense...but in the end, the results on the field just weren't matching the resources we provided...and after the Seattle game, I felt I owed our fan base an apology. I really wish things worked out. Harbaugh is a terrific person and better coach but after 4 years, it's time to move on and I wish him the very best. Oh, and Kawakami, Killion, Florio and Cohn...you can go f**k yourselves! You're an embarrassment to sports journalism!"

What makes you think that coach Joan in finance is the answer? If you are an honest fan, you'll admit that we have a serious problem with this coaching staff. You can have the Niners of the late eighties and go nowhere.

Everywhere Tomsula goes he has success. Every positional job he has been in, he has thrived.
We are giving a guy who I believe knows what it takes to get the BEST out of his players a shot at running this team.

The season hasn't even started yet and you think he is going to be worse than last season?

That last quote should be on a banner on the side of Levis Stadium.

Sounds like more hurt feelings to me. Harbaugh is your boy...we get it. He's in Michigan now. You're welcome to visit the fan forum.

As to your predictions of doom-and-gloom? Who can say that w/o even a single practice on the field yet under the new regime? But as an HONEST fan, I can say I'm very excited about the new coaching staff and look forward to seeing what they bring to the table. I'm also excited about the TEAM and the direction it's going. Just looking at the roster, it's deep and rich in talent. And we're about to add more...but you already know this.

Lol foreseeable future? I don't think no one has that power and those 3 years of winning? Was the down year in the foreseeable future too? You actually give someone a chance to fix the problem with that record..

And the answer is Tomsula? The great innovator of offensive X and Os.

Look at the overall offensive staff, the different areas of expertise, the vast experience, and Tomsula's desire to involve all the coaches in planning, player development, and his stated intent to scheme to player strengths, and yes: I do think he (and his assembled staff) are the answer.

I understand that your question was more of a rhetorical dig than an actual invitation toward discourse, and I understand that the odds against success for EVERY NFL team are more favorable than the odds for success, so pessimism is always the safest route for any fans who wish to be proven correct. I just think it's a crappy way to go through life, and I want no part in it. I hope you manage to find some enjoyment in your perspective to football, though. If not, what's the point?

Not only is it foolish to judge a staff before it's even had a chance to perform but I think this staff, on paper, looks better than JH's staff did, on paper, 4 years ago. What's sad is if JT was coaching another team and had the success that he has had with the niners, a lot of the people that didn't like the hire would be applauding the hire.

typical,, people disagree with you and ask you to have a open mind so we are not honest,,,, so people like you who think we have some sort of serious problem with the coaching staff are the only ones who are being honest?
