The anti jed guys , I guess, seem to think harbaw was going to turn on a dime, and miraculously learn NFL Offense? Or get rid of the worst of NFL OCs ever...who knew very little if any O, or at least that is what he showed us on game day. Why, why would one think the miseries of this team were getting better this yr if harbaw stayed. He did NOTHING to improve his or his OCs knowledge of the O and would not even consider a different OC. To me that spelled disaster, and if he stayed we were looking down the barrel of a 3-13 season. Who wanted that? Yet harbaw did zippo to improve a feckless , gutless O, and NEVER managed to change things up at the half. I honestly think he thot our talent could beat their talent, without any helpful coaching or game calling skills. Well...he was wrong, and now resides in Michigan. I hope for Michigan's sake, he figures out how to get someone across the goal line when starting from the 5 yd line in 4 tries. He failed at that here.
Oh, and NC, that advice you gave to the sportswriters was one for the ages. We should pin it.
You won't get a rationale argument to that question. I am finding that many of these one-line fans were fine with the firing...they just hate Jed b/c he was handed the franchise and raised with a silver spoon...like his uncle...some guy named Eddie?
Give the team back to Eddie.
Everyone would be happy

Eddie let the football people and Camen Policy run things for the most part-Jed wants to be out front. that is not healthy for the team IMO.........

Pretty sure someone using childish names like "Harbaw" won't get very many serious replies. If he wants to have a serious discussion he will have to get serious first.

harbaw. harbaw. harbaw. As in guffaw. harbaw. That is as serious as it gets. The guy's name was perfect...for him. If jed had just fired him one yr earlier...which he would have gotten mobbed over... but looking back...it was the thing to do. AMF.
As for you anti jed guys, you have incredibly short memories. Oh, how you must yearn for the wonderful times under DR. YORK. Now there was a winner if ever there was. He had it all under control. And you guys bithc and moan about jed? What, you forgot 2000-until jed came in? Wow, just wow. Show a little sense of history, teamwise. With the good doctor, this franchise was a POS floating down the river. Jed saved it from destruction. Say all you want, but your alternative is john York....and therein lies the problem. If you don't like those choices, you can always buy the team yourselves. Ooops....can't afford it? Well, neither can anyone else and we got a young guy with lots of ambition, who grew up with the proverbial silver spoon....but so the hell what. He is miles better than the alternative....unless one of you complainers has the dough to buy him out.
It may not have occurred to the small minority that is so vocal and loud, but your other choice...is a sure fire loser,

"At least he is not John York" is a legitimate plus but that is setting the bar pretty low. I hope he proves he is a lot more than that over the next few years.

We give credit to York/Baalke for hiring harbaugh and bringing a winning back to the bay but not harbaugh for being harbaugh because harbaugh sucked and it was time to fire him. A summary of this argument by F30,

Can you tell give me a list of owners who have accomplished more in a shorter time than Jed (no matter what your level of disdain is)?
1. Got rid of McDrunk
2. Elevated Baalke - questioned by many at the time b/c he wasn't a known "name"
3. Coaxed Harbaugh to come here over Miami and several other teams interested
4. Highest paid coaching staff in the NFL including 14 offensive coaches and a secret consultant for Roman
5. Secured and got a new stadium built in CA which is damn near impossible (you should hear the media storm in San Diego right now...the Santa Clara stadium model is the MODEL not only for teams trying to build and stay in CA but for the entire NFL)
6. Secured Superbowl 50
7. Saw a serious problem with our HC "on the field" like we all did. Went with the "football guy" in trusting his GM, Trent Baalke, and even hired additional FO help in Tom Gamble
8. Hired Paraag Marathe who continues to be a front runner in contract designs/terms and helps lead an analytics team in identifying productive players (see our history with late-round-draft signings and UDFA's and late-wave FA's)
Made some mistakes (like us):
1. Hired Nolan/Singletary out of emotion
2. Used key phrases from the 80-90's era that are now being used against him for making such a sensitive "move" to part with a popular coach (i.e. be as quiet as you can)
At the end of the day, he's still very young, has made his share of mistakes, was forced into making an unpopular decision, but in terms of producing what an owner CAN have control of, he's done a tremendous job and has already accomplished more than most long-term owners accomplish their entire careers. Like the "silver spoon" or not, you shouldn't diminish his accomplishments thus far.

Sounds like Jed knows a bit more about the on field product than some of our fans posting here. I am almost certain that Jed knows about what the average poster here knows about the game. He is admittedly not a coach but he is invested enough in HIS TEAM to know whether or not there have been discussions between Trent and Jim about the scheme and the players we've acquired for scheme fit and its constant failings and pitiful second half scoring all season. Games were essentially won the first half only for us to yield to our opponents. A lot of our offensive issues have been ongoing since 2011 but only last year did those issues overwhelm us as defenses adjusted to what we do. I give a disclaimer in that our OL was hobbled and performed atrociously and that there would have bee a lot of coaches that would fail under those circumstances but Mike Solari sure as hell didn't perform well at his task either. Not going to cry over him moving on either
TO be fair, he's a guy who has found a lot of success implementing zone blocking schemes, but Harbaugh forced him to coach a gap/power scheme. That's like making Joe Montana run a Coryell offense. It's the same crap Nolan/Sing pulled on Foerster.

Bingo! Lots of good reports on Wolford as well.

The only thing that can save Jed York now is if the 49ers are a playoff team this year. If that doesn't happen, the sh*tstorm that will rain down on him from fans and media will be epic.
In the words of Al Davis, just win baby.

It is pretty amazing how bad the 2nd half offense was. I still don't get it? Was it scheme, no adjustments, poor play calling , players dieing out, players not playing, all of the above?
How do u dominate one 1/2 of a game and look like s**t the 2nd half?
I can see one game or maybe two, but it was all season.
I really don't get it?

As if we don't know there is no other choice...
So that means we just go with the program.

I think it's a combination. I think they were thoroughly out-coached at times, and failed terribly to counter defensive adjustments. I think players noticed this trend and lost some confidence in the staff, expecting problems in the 2nd half of each game, which likely became a self-fulfilling prophecy. When a staunch team guy like Staley talks to the press about "dumb schemes," you have a real problem.
