he said he always wanted to be a raider

let him stay over there.
Bring him back imo. No apologies needed from either side.
Bring him back on a performance based contract
Lol you really he'll come back here after the way they kicked him to the curb.
He asked to be released and they granted him that. How is that kicking to the curb?

I don't think the team will bring him back but the 49ers were very courteous about how they handled his exit.

The team had reached a deal to trade Bowman but instead released him without compensation to allow him to pick his own team.

They had an agreement with New Orleans on a trade. But Bowman didn't want to go there so they released him.

They just wanted to dump him and his contract there's nothing courteous about doing it mid season. If they really wanted him they would have worked it out when he asked them to let him stay.

But they didn't want him. Bowman had some great years here with the team but it's clear the team was committing to their younger players and Bowman wasn't exactly lighting it up on the field. He was already losing playing time and wasn't performing up to his contract at the time. He's had some tough luck with his injuries but thats an unfortunate act of playing professional football.

When a team can get compensation for a player, their going to take it. The 49ers pulled out of the deal to allow Bowman the freedom to choose his own destination over receiving any sort of compensation, so yes it was an act of courtesy to him. That's alot more than many other players get.

Just so you know the team took a bigger dead money loss by releasing him rather than trading him.

For reals. Dude was a baller and this team fell apart on him. I don't blame him from wanting to get away from jed and co.

He did not want to accept his role and wanted off of the team. There was no working this out.
