This is kinda a nice snapshot to see where we stand at the 10 game mark.

That 1997 defense

If only the offense wasn't so stagnant that year. 97 would've been Lombardi number 6

No. Because 87 should have been #3. Making 97 #7.

Correct!

Should have been the one and only threepeat.

Craig tainted his career with one play.

Should have been a 4 peat but the 49ers weren't clutch enough. This team should have hoisted at least 8 titles. Its quite pitiful when you think about all the missed opportunities.

Agree. I'm still pissed off about our missed 3 peat and losing our perfect record in super bowl wins.

Me too refs played a huge role in the sb loss not to mention in 83 the phantom PI call vs the skins in the playoffs. Wow. I'm still bitter on the drew brees bullhonkey helmet to helmet call. We would of one that year bc home field throughout the playoffs. Anyways, our D is doing tremendous very impressed with the secondary and dl. Lbs too damn

It's almost like it's hard to win titles....

Stubby, BY, Barker and Doleman..Kevin Greene on the edge...

Kenny Norton and Woodall thumpin the middle with Timmy Mac coming down to stop the run

Marquez Pope and Rod Woodson beating up receivers

Good ol' Merton Hanks ball hawkin and chicken walkin...man that 97 D was special

Special, but old. And it caught up to them in the NFCC game vs the Packers. Woodson and Pope looked avg against Freeman and Brooks. It was frustrating. The Packers owned us for the better half of the 90s

....to be determined. The Packers were a better team in 1996, but they cost us a SB title in 1995 and 1997. We have owned the Packers in recent times but really have nothing to show for it except a SB loss.
